yes they are stamped 49cc, but dont worry its a good thing.

even though the pocket bike police will disagree, yes they are legal in NC.
I even have one registered with DMV
http://www.wholesalepricebusters.com/Ebay_Engines/70cc_head_ebay.jpq They got bikes with it stamped 70 or 100.How can the dealers know what they are shipping? It should say 110 if its a 110 or I would believe its a 49cc 4 stroke if thats what it says. So my 4 stroke I bought last week is a 70 and it says 49cc,. Because I took it back the next day and couldnt get my money back. Whats the deal with misleading confusion.I sware my YZ250 says 249cm on it and it came through customs.

A YZ250 is a dirt bike it doesnt matter what size the engine is. These bikes have headlights, and turn signals and are considerd mopeds or scooters, but only if they are 50cc and under. If customs knew they were above 50cc they would not be allowed through because of DOT regulations. The 110cc is alot bigger than the 49cc, you will be able to see the differance. Dont worry, trust me.

So this bike is street legal? What? It says off road use only on it.
depends what state you are in. "off road use only" is just another thing to get through customs. Alot of people will tell you they are not legal on the street, but check your local laws. These things are considerd mopeds and are legal here in NC. If they were not legal what fun would that be, riding just through the nieghboorhood gets old quick.

Ok so no matter what all(minibikes-mopeds) 70cc and 110cc motors are going to say 49cc.

Well I guess Ill just wait and see.I still wanna know about it . I just bought my 4 stroke 2 weeks ago and It seems to be a nice bike but it says 49cc(4stroke) so I guess it is although the dealler swears he was selling me 70cc. Does any body know this is bike is called ? I cracked wheel today at the track and need to order one.Its bigger than most minis(just barely) so i assume its a super bike.It has hyd discs.Hyd forks.10 inch 10 spoke wheels. It also comes in a 2 stroke cvt version.I dont know where to get a wheel or what the bike called. Thanks

I'm not sure where you got your info, but 110cc's is NOT considered a moped in NC. Check it again.

This is straight from NCDOT.

"North Carolina law defines a moped as a vehicle with two or three wheels with a motor of no more than 50 cubic centimeters of piston displacement and no external shifting device. Legally, a moped's top speed cannot exceed 30 mph. Although some mopeds on the market have top speeds higher than the 30 mph limit, they are illegal for use in North Carolina".

of course its not a moped lol and also does ne1 know if it can downshift..... i hate bikes that cant downhsift because it isnt too bad that it can go bac to first but if u cant downshift i dont think its worth buying to do a motorswap cuz all the engine mounting and all that junk....... just wondering

That is exactly why they are marked 49cc. Sure 110cc is illegal if not registerd, but since it is marked 49cc it is legal. And as for the external shifter, not one of the 100 police i have spoken to have even noticed it.
Yea, of course its not a moped, but NC laws considers it to be a moped thus making it legal all because of that 49cc stamp.

And yes, you can downshift the 110
