I bought a used Cobra S4 mini quad back in 2013. I've done a few things here and there trying to get it started since. It has a new carb and metal pull start.
Yesterday: Didn't start at all
I have spark.
I put 50:1 fuel into the tank.
I sprayed some carb cleaner into the spark plug hole.
Today: It started briefly for 2 seconds
I bought a new spark plug.
I sprayed some car cleaner directly into the carb hole.
Can you guys give me some points on what my issue could be? Thanks in advance.
Your issue could be alot of things......Try removing the sparkplug to see if its wet or dry......
Sounds like a fuel delivery or dirty carb issue.........other problems could be loose carb,,,cracked plastic intake manifold,,,airgap from coil to flywheel too far or close...magnets on magneto weak...flywheel could be loose or missing the keyway..faulty coil..headbolts loose,,,faulty killswitch,,,bad reeds,,
Id start by going over the whole quad from tip to tail.....
Theres a petcock mod you can do to the stock carb to get stronger fuel flow....
Thanks CAM2. I think you might be onto something about there being a fuel delivery issue. I do remember looking through the hole in the carb and seeing the end of the throttle cable hanging past the throttle valve. My guess is its loose. I'll take another look at it this evening when I get home from work. Are there any tutorials on adjusting the throttle cable?
