Hello all,
newest noob in the hood. I will post an introduction post, and pics this evening. but at the moment im discovering just how freakin' fast these bastards are! lmao, wowza!
my question is, do folks also run these without the clutch? just push starting them to fire up?
Welcome to the forum Mr Goodshiz on foot....[lucky mofo]...:tango_face_grin:
Its pretty hard to run them direct drive as the only way of decellerating fast would be to use the killswitch and thats not good constantly shorting out the coil so much.............
If you took the time to build the engines up the right way to european specs youll have a constant supply of browned shorts and shortage of soap.......
Youre probably riding around on 5-6hp of its true potential right now.............
cool, yeah i was impressed today...so yeah ill be having a motor (one of my 3 water ******* to pick from ;-) ) torn down here shortly with intentions to build a tight, snappy lil monster. i need to find a good resource online on that motor, tolerances, specs, C/R, squish timing etc.....to give a feel for where im starting.
oh the projects lol....i fly hang glider/ paragliders as well lol. anyhow, another project i have in mind is a mini buggy/crosskart /rail doohicky I want to build. I have an R1 1000cc yamaha, gearbox, harness and ecu in the garage to drop in it! so i am debating wether i should use the ex300 quad as a donor for wheels, tires, axel, a-arms, shocks, steer knuckles etc or just find a used ex300 or 250r to put in it.
Oh these are mighty fine problems to have sir, indeed.
A clutch for what bike, we can't read minds, lol. eBay is one of the best places, most parts direct from China w/ free shipping. In Florida, on the .com, Pocketbikeparts is a great place for parts in 5 or 6 days, China can be 1/2 the price, but 16 to 26 days. Buy 2 clutches if you can, they don't last along time, hp engines eat them up. China clutch bells are 78mm ID w/ 76mm OD clutch, Polini etc. are 80mm ID w/ 78mm OD clutch.
Here are some stock and hp clutches w/ racing springs and or lightened & balanced.
You sold your W/C C1 right?? I am selling mine too, the engine is brand new, w/ hp SS exhaust and many extras, keeping my air cooled one like you. The water pumps break all the time and you don't know till the engine is ruined, and you have to pull the whole engine and split the cases to fix the water pump. Love my Polini & BZM engines cause the pump is driven off a pulley behind the pinion drive gear where yo can see it all the time.
DM, very good choice. Yeah my plan is to keep the Polini 910 Carena 4.2 w/ new air cooled engine. the rims are 5", but have a set of white Blata rims with adaptors and slicks to put on it. My avatar bike GRC-GP will get the rebuilt 40cc BZM water cooled engine, even has a BMZ billet alum water pump. The hybrid engine in the avatar now is a 39cc W/C clone polini with BZM 2 shoe racing clutch and 80mm Polini bell housing. That BZM clutch is going on the 690 case engine. I have a second GRC-GP roller, that I will put the hybrid engine in and let them go but to many to take care. Going to sell some of my Cags, except my MT-A2 or the lucky 7. Its hard to give them up. Want to keep only the Euro bikes and the Banshee Sho, lol.
