grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

Here i have a grc-gp air cooled 49cc polini 2 stroke motor. I've owned this bike for almost 6 years now and still love this bike from day one. Every summer i take it out on the weekends and rip the hell out of it and the bike asks for more lol. I'd like to know more about this bike if anyone can tell me what they know about it. I know i have something good here but how good is what i dont know. Or what its worth in its present condition.

Your sellin it? I'd love to have it haha. Your bike was made in the late 90's early 00's. Italian made. Later upgraded to the grc rsr. If you could take a photo of the top of the engine case, where the carb connects to the engine I can tell you what size engine you got. Great bike though. I'm trying to find an air cooled polini at the moment.

I do apologize if I sounded like i was ****ed because no one is answering me. And as for selling the bike i have no idea if that word is even in my thoughts lol, i do love the bike though I picked it up in a very clean condition and i kept it that way. However the fairings weren't so good i had to get them repainted gunmetal grey with orange rims trying something different and it sure does get attention. And will take pics soon

Nah, you're good man. I was just playin. Well the fairings look excellent. How much did you get it for? Did you put the frame sliders on yourself?

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

Chuchu, welcome aboard, You have an air cooled Polini in a custom all alum frame, both made in Italy. It's a real racing bike, not like the copy China junk. I have the same engine in my Polini 910 Carena, its 40cc... 36mm bore & 39mm stroke full circle crankshaft, I put lighter black Cag MT-A2 body work. I don't know if there is a 50cc version of the A/C engine??? My GRC GP has a 40cc water cooled part clone, Polini and BZM, saving for a new 50cc W/C Polini engine. Think it is missing the bottom fairing and its not a W/C more horsepower bike 6.2 max to 12 to 16hp W/C engines.
For money, you might get $300 cause there is no place to ride, the cops impound it and it cost more to get it back than its worth. I would part it out, you could easily make $1,000, piece by piece. I will buy some parts myself.
You can check out parts, but you might be shock at $500 for cyld & piston & chrome ring, midsouthminimoto.com, Stoney, ran the USAminimoto racing series, he knows everything about these bikes, its where I an others here get their Euro Parts.

Your RSR is a better racing bike than the GP which is more rigid than yours.

Yes I know. I'm just looking for a ac 4.2-6.2 euro bike. Low maintenance and something my wife or anyone can ride with a little practice so I can ride with someone.

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

The A/C Euro 6.2s, have twice the power of a stock 49cc Cag. I think my 40cc Polini A/C is a 4.2, cause the side ports are very small. There are some numbers on the cyld, it may be a #2. What they do is put a narrow cast in divider and call it a 5 port. My 50cc ( 46cc ), C1 the cases did not match the cyld ports especially the rear/top 5 port. I Dremeled all the ports and made the intake port cases and cyld a bigger smoother pathway.
I woke up and it finally dawned on me the other day that all I need is new BZM cases to build, at mid-south they are $233 + bearings and seals. Over time from gpedcruisin, got an alum Euro radiator, w/ new blue BZM water pump, a real 15mm Dell 'Orto PHBG round piston carb which will be bore from 19 to 21mm, BZM 37mm piston, ring & cyld w/ head still mounted, hp BZM clutch housing, have new BZM 2 shoe racing clutch, BZM silver crankshaft, 40cc BZM racing exhaust.
I want a Euro engine in my GRC GP, so Bad, after I port the BZM cyld and cases, it is going to Fly, lol.

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

The polini 6.2 and 4.2 cylds ate the exact same. The difference is in the crank case. The intake manifold is not part of the case on the 4.2, but a separate component all together. Also the intake ports from the manifold are a lot thinner. If you got a photo of the engine I can help you out.

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

Then I'm pretty sure mine is a 4.2hp, Has only two reeds like a Cag. And alum intake similar to the one used on a Cag. 14/14 SHA clone carb. I bent the reed stops back till they drag on the upper wall of the cases intake hole. I also cut a new a Polini green CF reed into 2 fingers the fit the reed plate. I was planning to put the 36mm BZM cyld/head unit on the Polini cases, but after assessing that it would be way to muck work. For one the cyld base pattern is bigger than the Polini. Going to keep it in the Polini 910 Carena for now, getting the body ready for paint, bondo and primer finished.

My Polini 910 watercooled is a 4.2 engine too......Theres improvements that can be made to the intake and the reedplate aswell as the exhaust port/transferports/crankcase/piston to make optimal power.........

Its one of the very few engines that I didnt have to do nothing to the original carb after increasing the compression except for increasing the mainjet two steps......

Yea EPR, you've got a 4.2. That aluminum intake manifold is the most noticeable difference between the too.

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

He is right, it is a steal. That's less than 2 new rims and tires. A new engine for you is $1,000 plus dollars. I have another GRC GP roller, minus the seat section and front tire and rim I have been searching years for so don't ruin the front rim, there are billet 2 piece rims, for big bucks. Go to midsouthminimoto on the .com and click on GRC and Polini 4.2 or 6.2 engine parts.

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

Well, a used polini a/c motor is around $200. $400 for that bike is a good deal. I'd say it's worth up to $600.

Re: grc-gp don't know much about it would like to

Well the bike was made in the 90's. You could possibly get $7-800 from the right buyer but I saw a 40cc w/c GRC-GP for sale in Italy for only 300 euros (debating if I want it, but dang shipping costs). That w/c engine costs twice as much as the a/c too. But its a great bike, just old. If you don't keep it talk to me haha.

Amazon or ebay would have excellent choices for you. 90% of the sellers on ebay are trustworthy. But pocket bike parts.com would have some you need. They are very trustworthy.
