Wanted: stock polini engine

I'm wanting to buy a running polini engine in very good condition. I prefer the engine to be stock and aircooled. i do not want to purchase a engine that has internal modifications done. I do not need a pipe, carburetor, or airfilter. My price is $400 cash local. I can send funds thru PayPal, but in order for me to do so I require a invoice with proper details. Please, post photos of what you have along with an accurate description.

Re: Wanted: stock polini engine

I bought my 4.2 air cooled Polini for $168 and $15 S/H, But had to buy an $88 coil and a few hundred dollars for a bunch of other stuff to get it running, including $100 Dell 'Orto 14/14 SHA carb. A cyld & piston kit is $400, so if you buy a used one I would want a compression test, and a paper from the seller stating the compression and you can return it if he is wrong.

$212 USD not bad but it will cost $100 to ship it to the US. I could not find a China Polini in the US or direct from China yesterday. Saw many C1 Blata clone engines though.

Re: Wanted: stock polini engine

Killer deal, did you have to pay 21% VAT tax to get it out of Italy?? Now you need a water pump and O ring belt. I made my own pump bracket from big Stanley gate hinges & flat bar shelf braces. You will also need either a pump pulley behind the clutch housing pinion or run the pump off a rear wheel pulley. My 910 Polini Carena has a pump mount on the rear of the frame for the rear wheel pulley system. My GRC GP does not.

Re: Wanted: stock polini engine

Not sure if tax was included with total purchase. Shipping is through DHL with a tracking number provided. .... also purchased a pump that runs off the pinion with included O-ring (from mid-south $$$$) ... looking forward to getting bike on the road.

Re: Wanted: stock polini engine

That bell housing is for a rear wheel pulley water pump, there is no pulley behind the pinion gear. You are going to need either a different Clutch housing w/ pulley and pinion gear, or try to buy a pulley & put it behind the pinion sprocket on the new engine. That will move the pinion out a little and then the pinion might not line up with the rear wheel sprocket, and you will have to try to respace the rear wheel a hair to the left, which I don't know if you can even do that.
