139QMB swap into X7

Hey y'all, I've posted here about this bike before.
It originally had a CR85 engine in it and lemme tell ya, it ripped. Aaaand then it cracked the cylinder..
I swapped a PA50 into it for about a day and it ran well but only went about 10mph with the little tires.

Aaaand now I decided to throw the gy6 50 clone from my moped into the pocket bike.

The donor

And here is the new rear end

Mocked up

Mounted

Still have to do the wiring and add a few gussets and a shock mount.

Lemme know what y'all think!

Also how do x18 plastics look on an x7? I'm cool with making new brackets to mount em I just want to cover the open space where I'm puttig the battery and gas tank and such. Not a big fan of x7 fairings.

uhh wait, is the naked bike yours and the blue bike the donor?... a lil confused. And x18 fairings look fine on an x7. minor adjustments needed.

Re: 139QMB swap into X7

After I posted I started looking for them online . Very hard to come by unfortunately. Might have to buy some x7 fairings. Ive only got the tank/seat/tail pieces.

Re: 139QMB swap into X7

Wiz I've only found 2 sites that sell em.. and the set of 2 side fairings cost like $$135. You know somewhere with a better price?
Unless you mean I'm blind for not liking the x7 fairings. I just figure that I need to buy new Plastics anyway so I might as well buy the better looking of the two.

Re: 139QMB swap into X7

Some progress. Got it standing on both tires now. Shock mounted, added supports to the new swingarm. Pulled the wiring harness along with all the electronics off the moped and will be rewrapping/routing them tomorrow prolly.

Ill berunning the bigger wheel up front as well, not sure if I should use the drum or switch to disc.

Aint gonna Im not a huge fan of how it looks. But its not how it looks its how it performs. I guess the longer wheel base is a added bonus as well. Did you actually have a cr85 motor in that thing? If so thats crazy. And if you have some could you post some pics with the old cr85 engine in it? Anyways keep up the great work.

Pocketbik here are the pics I found of the old engine.

I still have it, someday ill fix it up and slap it back in. I was going about 55 when I missed 6th gear and redlined the engine, blew a piece off the case and cracked the cylinder wall. She's all **** but the guts are still good from what I can tell

Also it does look a little doofy. But I plan to put full fairings on it to cover the empty space. Gonna slap a mowerr battery and big gas tank in the new space.

Re: 139QMB swap into X7

Me being broke is why I'm going this route with the bike. Had everything laying around. So far I've bought a few bolts.. I'll need the x7 taillight, fairings and thats about it.

Thanks that is a awesome swap. And you got some balls going 55 on ones of those chinese bikes. How much you pay for the cr85 engine?

Re: 139QMB swap into X7

Bik I paid bout 350 for the bike with the cr85 on it. It had stock tires, forks, swingarm.. only thing they did was ditch the fairings and lights and cut the frame to fit the engine. Kinda sketch but she was QUICK!

And thanks Kray. The spot the PO cut out pretty much perfectly cleared the head of the GY6 engine. Made mounting it up way easy. Just had to fab up the swingarm.

I kinda like the drag look. Never really been my bag but it'll make me more visible when riding it. Plus, wheelie machine!!!
