I'm starting the rebuild of a Dandy pocket bike I recently picked up for $100...

I tore it down last night and I'll be dropping off a pile of parts hopefully next week to be powder coated. I haven't decided on color yet but I'm leaning towards lime green for the frame & wheels and then either a satin black or flat black finish on the fairings. Any opinions on color would be appreciated.

Still looking for a decent price on powder coating. $190 for everyting including media blasting is the best I've found. I had a whole box of parts done for my YSR for less but unfortunately that guy is no longer around. If anyone knows a local (Houston, TX) guy that can give me a deal please let me know.
If I can't find a better price I'll just have everything media blasted and I'll go buy some rattle cans.

Thats a bit steep for such a small frame.....Did you bring it there or give dimensions of the frame when getting a quote.....I pay $190 to have dirtbike frames powdercoated...$250 for a quad
Dont rattle can it.........That will kill its collectors value........
Theres Precision Powdercoating,,,Allied powdercoating,,Houston Powdercoating,,Spectrum Powdercoating

I didn't give them the dimensions but I figured the coke can in the picture would show how small it is. Maybe in person and with the parts in hand I can work a better deal.
Yeah I spent $250 to have my YSR frame powder coated and that included a whole box of small parts from it also. There's just no way I could bring myself to drop $200 on the Dandy.
The quotes were from powdercoatitnow and 3 Nails Powder Coatings which I found through google...I'll check out your suggestions. I hadn't called others yet since those two quotes were very close to each other. Where's the buddy who powder coats when you need him!

Hey Cam what color would you go with? I guess if collectors value is of importance I should steer away from the lime green frame & wheels?

No you can go with any color you desire but the frames are epoxy painted so if you upgrade to powdercoat it will enhance its value better over downgrading to rattle can paint...

I just dropped everything off, I found someone to do everything for $100, I don't think I could find a better price. They wanted an extra $80 for lime green so that changed my mind. I think it will look nice, should have it back in 5-7 business days. (the other quotes I had were all before the special order paint cost so they were WAY too high!)

everything in this picture will be gloss black:
everything in this picture will be light texture black, they're also doing the rear sprocket and the head of the fork brace bolt in the same light texture black, just didn't have it in the pic.

Nice and the price is definately better and more reasonable for what you want done......
It sux they tried to jack you on the lime green but should look good....Ive seen those frames in silver, black, magenta, blue, white and green

Hopefully the powder coated parts will be ready by the end of the week. I went to the hardware store today and replaced all the hardware so I'm ready to start putting it back together. I've decided to powder coat a few more parts (clutch bell housing, chain tensioners, a few more bolt heads ect.) so I'll be dropping them off when I pick up the frame & other parts.

So the powder coated parts look awesome, my table of ready to go parts is getting filled. Assembly will begin as soon as I get my parts from minimoto...

Unfortunately the wheels are going back to the powder coater tomorrow along with the other parts I'm having done, they coated the bearing slots on all 4 wheel pieces so they'll have to be re-blasted and coated again, the sad part is I didn't notice it when I inspected everything, I was distracted by the shiny frame :)

I don't know how it was running as good as it was, this should make for a better spark.
