Intro to this side of the forum

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself to the water cooled side of things haha. My grc rsr with banshee engine just arrived today. Filled the reservoir, put in fuel and it started right up. Had to adjust the idle screw a little but other than that it ran really well. Completely different ride! I knew the clutch wouldn't engage for a while but it was still pretty odd feeling the rpms go up and still no movement. I was only able to ride around in my parking lot today so didn't have much space to really open it up. Very excited about the bike though, sadly I had to leave out of town for the weekend so I won't get to play with it till Monday. Oh well! Love the bike.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

She is beautiful, can you see the quality workmanship, all you need now is a 50cc Polini or BZM W/C engine. Can't believe it does not have dual front disc brakes.

Ya, the brakes need some adjusting. The ride is so smooth, even going over small bumps is smooth. Hopefully I'll get a polini engine in this thing sometime.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

Wear that engine out first and get use to the bike, cause when you go Polini, going to have another 4 to 6 horsepower. My 50cc Blata clone C1 came with 6/72 gears and it has around 8 to 9 hp power with porting, compression mods and all that stuff. That's 12:1 to much low end for me.
I modified a Cag 6 tooth 8mm 05T pinion gear and put on the C1 bell housing and rear 54 tooth T8F 8mm chain rear gear w/ 8mm chain, both came w/ my MT-A2 Cag. The pinion is wobbly so I took it off and put a C1 8 tooth pinion and 68 tooth Cag rear gear, 8.5 to 1, way more top speed and still good take off. Its' geared for a big track with long straightaways, and fast corners, lol.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

That's what I'm planning on doing. Do you think that polini 6.2 wc engine I've been asking you about would be a buy/replacement? I know it's a 39cc. But isn't the crank case the same as the 50cc. How is the performance between a 6.2 polini and banshee engine? I know the hp difference but better engines utilize horsepower better than Chinese ones.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

There is not a big difference 37mm to 40mm piston and bore. Can't compare a China Polini to a real one. The China ones are not very reliable, and the quality is poor. My Banshee was a basket case. Engine would start, but it ran bad. So, I took the head then cyld off, he had put a used 40mm 50cc Polini cyld & head on the Banshee engine, with new 40mm Banshee piston and ring. The cyld was wasted, lines up and down all the way around. It came with a lot of extra parts. Found a new Banshee cyld piston and ring, the cyld was type 2, the cases type 1 so the case hole was too small, so I had to grind .070" of material off the cyld skirt and had fit it into the cases. Then in the parts found a ADA billet alum head and 15:1 compression cap and put it on. Has the stock 18mm Banshee carb w/ 1mm main jet. I believe it is my fastest W/C pocket bike right now.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

I'm looking on ADAracing.com and they only have a 13:1 billet head cap. Did you get just a stock cyld for yours and then the 15:1 compression cap from adaracing? or did the cyld come from them as well?

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

I cannot say for sure that the ADA billet head on the 50cc Banshee is a 15:1, I just assume that, cause he was going to race the bike. It was one of the many extra parts that came in the big box when the seller shipped it to me. I have change the cyld and the head was off so I said lets try this head, lol. The billet heads are the same for the 40 or 50cc cyld, the compression cap is machined a little different than the 13:1, bigger combustion area than the 15. I have 4 heads w/ caps I bought from ADA now, two 15:1 and two 13:1s that I bought after they ran out of 15s. But all my caps are only for the 50cc/40mm cyld, it has a lip 40mm, so it won't fit into the 37mm cyld without turning it down to 37mm to fit in to the 40cc/37cc. The 37mm cap might fit into a 40mm cyld. I sent one of my 15:1 caps to NaSa here to try to turn it down to 37mm on his lathe so I could put it on my clone 40cc Polini in my avatar. He did not think he could do it, so I am trying to get him to answer me and send him money to send it back so I can try to ruin it, lol.
If you have the 50cc Banshee engine, it is 40mm that 13:1 head will bolt right up but need a $40 head to frame shock mount for the top engine to mount to the frame. There $33 shipped, there giving them away, when there Gone there Gone, Forever, better order one now before I buy there last one, lol.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

I took it out today. I went to a more open parking lot, not so many neighbors, but still couldn't get it to its top rpms before I ran out of room. The gearing currently set up is 7/70. I mainly run short tracks and I love coming out of corners quick, so I'm going to drop the pinion to 6t. Any advice on how to do that in the easiest manner?

The bike ran real well, until I was about finished when it started bogging out. It started up but then quickly quit. That's when I noticed the fuel filter was cracked. Everything was still dry, I guess the crack wasn't big enough to leak. But my gas tank was empty, either it dried up quick (doubt it) or this thing is just thirsty. I only put a little gas in for testing purposes but it still went through it way faster than my cags. I'm going to grab a new filter and she should start right up just fine. Auto zone should have filters right?

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

This is the fuel filter I have on my cag. I use 1/4 inch fuel line but it may fit other sizes.

I got one at the motorcycle shop in town. The old one practically disintegrated as I was pulling it out. Bike started up fine.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

Kray15, I e-mailed gong Tiger about the Pro Jet exhaust, he told me it was lost in shipment, yeah right. He still has them for sale $36.99 and $26.50 shipping, there $60 plus dollars now, instead of the $18.17 I paid. he under bid and would loose money, so...... Go to the receipt for your exhaust. To late to Open a Dispute, but looked thru the left menu to report fraud or different topics and left a message there. They said they received and will answer, so we will see. I told them everything, even he is still selling them but won't ship mine, he did not charge enough, not my problem. I can't believe the guy is still asking me to do business with him, he will give me a discount next order, Not, lol. I told Ali if I don't get my money back, filing fraud charges, postage fraud, and filing a report with my Verterans Reps at both my US Senators Offices, Barbra Boxer and Diane's F. in San Francisco and you can deal with them. I sicked them on the Fort Miley VA, SF, dental department, they changed there tune when they got a letter from her, they had to pay a private Dentist, lol. They don't like people messing with & ripping off disabled veterans.

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

That's crazy he is still trying to sell you on it. He straight up said I don't know what's wrong with your pipe, file a dispute I'll accept. I don't like people ripping off anybody, that's why I sucked at door to door sales haha, but ripping off disabled veterans, that's cold!

Re: Intro to this side of the forum

I think he is okay, he just screwed up, I could have filed a Dispute long a go. He said I can get my money back. I e-mailed Ali with all the info and told them your breaking California and US Federal laws. When you contact the Post office, take some ones money and give them a tracking number, suppose to ship the next day. Think there was a World Convention, and then Lunar New Years back to back and he could not get parts, cause everyone was partying, like October Fest, lol.
Have you contacted AliExpress, I went to my copy of the transaction, could open a dispute, but think there was a menu on the left giving choices like reporting fraud. That's what I did, & I told them what you are doing is Fraud then picked one and e-mail them all the info. he said he will okay it and Ali will pay us back. So Me The Money, lol.
AliExpress is a sister of AliBaba.com and the New York Stock Exchange, sure they don't want me to go public with this, lol.
Oh yeah, I also gave him your order # and bogus tracking number, told him, I told my friend to by one too, he did not get his either. That's hacks me off!!!!
I read him the Ten Commandments, left nothing out, lol. Your Traveling on Thin Ice Baby, from The Ozark Mountain Dare Devils band, Car over the Lake album, lol.
