Buy a new motorcycle helmet, don't buy secondhand. I know it's not the cheapest option, but if your head and the REST of your life ahead of you are important to you, you won't mind spending a few dollars. Second hand helmets can have invisible damage, they could have been slightly squashed, have the damage covered up by paint or stickers or whatever, and these will come apart in an accident.

jkulhanek is 100% correct. I would never buy a used helmet. Save your cash a little longer and buy a new one.

Also make sure it is D.O.T aproved...some helmets claim to be "Motor Cycle" helmets but are not D.O.T aproved...a real Motor Cycle helmet should be D.O.T aproved...with that said go and buy your self a new D.O.T aproved helment and your head will thank you in an accident...

you can get a brand new HJC solid color helmet for $100, remember if you,ve got a $10 head buy a $10 helmet.
