Gear? psh...

I hate wearing gear. I have a 47cc raptor so it's not like im going 50 plus mph. I just wear a full face helmet and thats it. I live in virginia and its summer right now. Wearing full gear in 85 degree weather takes all the fun out of riding my pocket bike. What do you guys think?

P.S. I am getting a 110cc 4stroke in july for my birthday. I'm not stupid i will be wearing gear to ride that. Lol.

I think that is the dumbest thing you can do. Even when riding a cag if you fall you will get bad road rash. At least some jeans, a jacket, elbow and knee pads, and some gloves.

True that! I've crashed a couple of times on the track and thank god i had my knee/shin guards on. Try getting a mesh armored jacket, it's not that hot to wear compared to leathers. Don't forget gloves too.

squid is this first thing that came to my mind.
they make gear for all different weather. road rash sucks, worst is having to clean it out .

Thumbs down Re: Gear? psh...

A good example of a bad example. Riding a cag without gear. back tire lifted while cornering. I have something to remind me of that crash for a long time to come. GET GEAR!!!!!!!

As they say; a picture is worth a thousand words. That one says it all!

An old motorcycle saying is: Dress for the slide and not for the ride!

You don't dress for the weather, you dress for the crash.
It gets to about 120 here in the summer, but you won't catch me or my kids without gear. You can never be too safe.

Re: Gear? psh...

I would definately say wear gear. I was going about 40kmh down my road having a drag with my brothers mate in their car and then i didnt lean forward and it hit the powerband and the bike flipped out from under me!! the worst of my injuries was my heels coz i wasnt wearing shoes uoiehiueheuihueuhe my heels were bloody and my bones were bruised. I was wearing dickies shorts and it ripped right through and skinned my @$$ which my boxes sticked too from the blood. My hands were bloody and numb. My head and face was ok. The @$$ was the worst coz it became so itchy! and flakes of @$$ scab flaked off into my bed. Wasnt very yummy. Anyway yes definately wear gear.
