good riding gear

Hey I ride my bike now with a hjc full face helmet, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt and I want more protection in case I go down. I was wondering what kind of jacket to get. I was thinking about getting a suzuki textile jacket, but I dont think I need a full leather suit or anything because I just ride around town I dont race on the track. If anyone knows where I can get a nice jacket for a nice price it will be greatly appreciated.

Re: good riding gear

Midsouthminimoto has alot of new jackets and suits on sale on their ebay page.

Goto midsouthminimoto.com and click on clearance items. Apparently I can't insert links here.

Re: good riding gear

Textile jackets look good and are cooler in warm weather.

I will say this BUY A LEATHER JACKET. I guarantee, if you ever go down at speed, there is nothing that protects your hide like leather. I have seen textile minimoto suits and jackets burn through at minimoto and mini tard speeds, plus they look like poop after one fall. Leather just gets scuffed up a bit and gains character. Remember how lucky you were by the scuffs on the jacket not the skingrafts.

Re: good riding gear

I would also advise some gloves, any mesh/leather work gloves will do fine, heck even baseball/football gloves, just something to cover up your hands. when i went down on my 200cc, my hands got shredded, as well as most of the right side of my body (I was goin about 70 when i last checked before i hit some gravel) I'm glad to hear your planning ahead. It took my crash to realise how lucky i was, and how important safty gear is. and now i wont even look at a bike without haveing gear on.

Re: good riding gear

found these, and thought they would match well with a black/silver paint scheme, like on my x15.

Re: good riding gear

You should definitely consider investing in some good quality gloves too. Sometimes your hand might be the first to touch the ground when you fall, and missing a chunk out of your hand wouldn't be too pleasant!
