i put in in the wash using cold water, then let sun dry. then i use McGuier's (sp?) 2 stage car upholstry cleaner on it. the second stage puts aloe vera into the leather to make it nice and soft again! i use that to break in my leathers too.

Hey Daniel....Brandon had alot of oil on the back of his leathers from the exhaust... and I used Saddle Soap....and this stuff has been around for years....I used to use this on my old High Point MX boots years ago.....It comes in a canister and you use a damp rag and clean them up.....It cleans and protects the leather...You can get this at any shoe store....and I happened to get mine at Target in the shoe section...

Saddle soap is good or warm soapy water with a sponge but not damp then leather conditioner. Washer shouldn't do that especially if you use detergent.
This will break down the integrity of the leather and so will hanging the leathers up in the garage with solvent fumes and exhaust.
