what makes shoei helmets so expensive or any helmet over $150? is it just the brand or do they do a better job?

I don't know. It is made good and they are like collectibles. some of them.

ive noticed the simple dif. between my shoi and off brand helmet such as the wind noise, the production quality (cheaper plastics), and most noticably the padding it seems to me Shoei helmets have much higher quality padding although it takes longer to get the padding settled it is far more confortable, at least that is my opinion.
