That construction hat would probably just as safe as those half shell helmets that all the harley riders think are so cool. That's how most of them get away with wearing those stupid things, they buy the fake sticker and put it in their useless helmet.

Personally I won't ride without a helmet, after three street bike wrecks I'm absolutely sure I'd be dead or at least brain damaged if I hadn't been wearing one.
