Re: Where can I get leathers?

craigslist is always good, i paid $50 for a practically unused leather jacket and pants, i had to drive 1.5 hours to pick them up, but it was worth it when the next day i highsided and the leathers saved my skin! too bad when i hit the ground, i bounced flipped, and landed on my hand and broke it lol.

just think of how i would have turned out if i didnt have my gear on, i would have had road rash on my back, leg, and arm, ive lowsided at 70 before (not on a pocktbike) and stupid me didnt realise the importance of a jacket at the time, so needless to say, very painfull road rash all over the right side of my body

well actually i found them by accident, I was just killing time searching CL and stumbled across them. I would say any leather jacket under $100 is a good deal as long as it fits properly (the tighter the better, as long as it does not restrict movement)

Learning most of my bike info from CMRA racers, the old saying goes, "kill a cow, then wear it"

I'm still trying to hunt down some riding boots and gloves on the cheapness, covering up your ankles is always a good idea. And any hardware store has knee pads with plastic caps on them, they only cost $5 or so, and work really well, I've even used mine for knee dragging!

Textile(mesh) jackets are good too, and usually run a bit cheaper than leahter, bad thing is they only hold up for one or two crashes, and since the textile jacks are flexible, sometimes your sleeves and back will roll up, giving you road rash. and leather can be patched up after a date with the road.
