well actually i found them by accident, I was just killing time searching CL and stumbled across them. I would say any leather jacket under $100 is a good deal as long as it fits properly (the tighter the better, as long as it does not restrict movement)

I'm still trying to hunt down some riding boots and gloves on the cheapness, covering up your ankles is always a good idea. And any hardware store has knee pads with plastic caps on them, they only cost $5 or so, and work really well, I've even used mine for knee dragging!
Textile(mesh) jackets are good too, and usually run a bit cheaper than leahter, bad thing is they only hold up for one or two crashes, and since the textile jacks are flexible, sometimes your sleeves and back will roll up, giving you road rash. and leather can be patched up after a date with the road.
