Is anyone using anything other than TT91's on their 12" machines? If so, what are you using and how are they working for you?
Some of the guys within our club are using Bridgestone Battle-ax tires, and like them. I may even try a pair as my next set.
Some of the guys in the mid-west are using Sava's as well. I heard they offer the softest compound, which means they will not have a long life as the other popular 12" tires used.
yeah, I remember all those posts too. As for where they are, dunno. If I recall, there had been a lot of chat on the ******** forum or on a Texas racer/riders forum. Do an inernet search and I am sure you'll get some hits.
Seems Metrakit is Sava Sponsored......after doing a google search

Where's everyone getting the Sava brand? There was a distributor right here in SoCal not too long ago, but they seem to have disappeared.
Sava West went out of buisness. Denny was one of our club sponsors. Google M & M racing or Cam Moorehead (owner) he carries most everything except Vee Rubbers.
Yeah, when racing slowed down and demand for 6.5's declined, Sava West disappeared. Denny was a good guy. He was always at the track supporting and sponsoring local venues down here and unlike most, he was interested in the sport flourishing and not a fast buck.
I've talked to Cam before. Definitely a good guy to deal with.

Thanks for the information, bruddah.
I think if we tried the Sava's and ended up liking them, we'd have to get a set of tire warmers.
The sava MC31's are nice tires but like stated before they don't last long at all! I've always ran the TT91's but since nobody can get fronts, I got a hold of the B-stones 601ss tires and LOVE them! They are sticky, but last longer then the Sava's.
Pierce, why can you get/sale the Sava MC31's for $130 a set where Cam Moorehead has them for $180 a set??
A teammate of mine put on a set and after 4, ten lap sprint races and a few laps in practice they looked like they had maybe 4 more sprint races left. I don't think he liked them as much as the TT91's or 601's because he crashed 2 times that day and said the tires just let go with no warning. But, he did also say the stuck like glue... so I think they don't slide well like the dunlops or B-stones.
I get the tires at a local motorcycle super store here in Columbus called www.IRONPONY.com I'm sure they can ship out a set... but I believe the B-stone 601SS are on back order as well as the front Dunlops.
