Talking 1986 GSXR50 aka RB50 aka GAG

Hey I just picked up a US spec '86 Suzuki RB50. It's a 50cc 4-stroke Baby Gixxer and was wondering if anyone has any manuals or info on this great little bike. It's going to need a lot of work bringing her back to life. Any idea of other places to search for parts other than my Suzuki dealer that already thinks I'm crazy? (In need of plastics, guages, and a few little engine parts) Anyone have any relatives/friends/penpals in Japan because apparently these were far more popular over there than they ever were in the US. The Calamari guys don't carry any parts and haven't been much help. Pics coming soon!

-J

StreetDreams: That by far is one of the rarest mini's out there. Parts for this bike are few and far between. Occasionally some parts will pop up at auctions, but they're normally pretty expensive. As for bodywork, i think a company named FRP still makes some, not sure though.

Let me know if you need help finding info.

thanks

Thanks for the FRP lead. Not only is FRP a fiberglass reinforced plastic according to the US Yahoo site, but Yahoo Japan found several modded RB50 bikes with the FRP kits on them. Now I just need to find out where to find the FRP shop or dealers.

I'm glad to see that my Intro to Japanese language class next semester will already be put to good use.

If anyone has any other info that would be great. Thanks again!
