Talking 2005 Aprilia Tuono 50cc!!!

2005 Aprilia Tuono 50cc shifter bikes! Just saw this on the Aprilia web site! Does anyone know if they will be bringing these to the US? These bikes look better then the RS!

wont see them in the U.S. no time soon.

they'll never make it to U.S. soil unfortunately. too many tree huggin' environmentalist in the way not letting that happen. if you want to buy a 50cc tuono........you'll have to buy one in Europe and bring it over as a track bike.

good luck.

They sell the RS50 right now at the dealers. This is just the naked version of it.

BTW the best looking 50 is the 2005 Derbi GPR 50. Wait till that comes out and it will come to the states. They will also offer up the 80 version too as well as the 125 bolt on engine kit. Don't know what the prices are but I believe the GPR50 will be in the neighborhood of 4K new.

Aprilia's RS125 is sick. For sure this will not be officially imported to the states.

actually, the RS50 will not be brought to the US after this production year, so you want to buy one, you better go out there and get one now!

Derbi's

I've seen those Derbi's up close. those are big bikes man. just like a full sized bike only with a 50cc engine. it kinda defeats the whole "hey look at that novelty small bike" effect. Don't get me wrong the Derbi is a great looking bike.
But parts for the Derbi would be murder to have to wait for. there aren't really that many "Derbi" dealers here in the US.

That's another item to take into consideration. Unless you are a real savy mechanically inclined guru..........you are going to eventually need to take the bike to a shop to have some maintenance word done on it...........

just me 2 cents maties.

i was talking about a Aprilia RS50, but yes, the last model Derbi GPR50 will also end this production season. as far as parts, it's not that hard to get the, there are derbi dealers around, just call their region reps in the US and they can point you the in the right direction, and the Aprilia parts are even easier to get!

What!!!!

$4k for a 50cc bike?..........are you guys nutz? unless it's a YSR with 0 miles on it.........or an NSR with 0 miles on it.

Derbi's are huge, huge sized bikes. I've seen a 2001 in person and they are the same size a full Kawi636.

there's something to be said about the 2/3 size of the YSR/NSR sizes. they are less intimidating on the roads and you more of the "what the heck is that" factor but to each their own.

True, the YSR is less intimidating, and I'm not sure if that's said to be a good thing or not? YSR's can be quite scary at times on the road strictly because, of their size. I had a girl in the left turning lane swerve over into my lane (left straight lane) with a car right next to me. Basically, I had to hug the center lines to pull out of that one. Split second thinking told me to do that, the guy that was next to me (not the stupid *****), pulled over with me as I had to let my heart drop back into my chest and told me "that was some fancy driving". I was still shaking and scared shitless from the almost wipe out. I ride big bikes on the road also, got a couple Ducatis and I can honestly say riding the YSR is more of a rush, nothing to do with speed but, more the "tiny" factor.

All that said though, it won't ever stop me. I don't trust every retard that happen to be given an Oklahoma Drivers License but, I trust my defensive driving, skill, and safety to keep me on the right path.

I'll never forget something my uncle once told me, "Any moron can ride out into the sunset but, only a true rider comes back in one piece........with no duct tape". haha. Unfortunately, he was forced to put his bike away as he was battling polycystic kidney disease and finally lost the battle this last weekend and passed away. I'll never forget that just because it's mixed with his goofy personality but, he was a hell of a guy and will be missed. I have so many great motorcycle memories with him and he owned the first YSR I ever rode. Wasn't for him I might never have threw my leg over one of these mini machines.

Well, on that note drive safe and have fun.
