Re: Another Yerbi in the Making :)

Update......

Well, I finally put the motor to the test yesterday.

Me, SecN8ure, a couple guys from the BATS (Bay Area Two-Strokes) forum met with Eddiemcrider and his local twisties (Antioch). Eddie on his Derbi Senda tard (stock), Marcus from BATS on his modified Derbi Senda tard, AJ from BATS on his modified RS50, SecN8ure on a very cool looking "Spiderman" Aprilla scooter and I on the Yerbi.

Anyways, I briefly got the bike up to 65mph before I let off......for those familiar with the YSR speedo, needle tangent to the (yellow) turn signal indicator. I had no problem keeping up with the other guys and felt I still had plenty of throttle/power left I am really satisfied with it's current set-up (Derbi Senda motor w/ 24mm carb, "SP" M/K pipe & 13/41 sprockets).

I now feel complete and am so glad I did this conversion. I can only imagine what the speeds will be with the Pro Crank & 72cc kit, estimated speed of 80mph

My next update will be my review of the bike on the track (SMRRC, Stockton) vs my 04 NSR.....stay tuned

Re: Another Yerbi in the Making :)

Please remember that I have a full conversion motor with electric's available now. Not to push myself but I would like to get rid of this motor. I also can get a mounting kit for the motor so it is pretty much a bolt in. All you need is a radiator and exhaust to finish the job.

- well worth the upgrade Dan. Daren's bike was so fast compared to my stock Derbi SM.

Re: Another Yerbi in the Making :)

Update.......

Over the 2006 Dec Holiday, the YSR chassis got a make-over. I had the frame, swing arm and cradle powder coated in silver. Pics (will update soon) don't do much justice, not being able to really notice indifferences. However, if ever seen up close and personal, it is very obvious.

Moreover, I had just ordered a 72cc "SP" kit and should be receiving it soon. Should have it installed within the next couple of weeks (time permitting). It's said the 72 kit will produce around 22hp. Will update you soon with a write up between the 50cc vs 72cc

For now, just the top-end. I'll get the Crank when I have the available funds.

Re: Another Yerbi in the Making :)

Update......

My Yerbi, or rather, my YSP (YSR/Derbi "SP") is now a 72cc.......Metrakit "SP", that is. I installed the kit (cylinder/piston) and recently broke in the motor. Here is some video I shot of my 5th heat cycle;

youtube.com/watch?v=nuw_pG_E7G0......cut-n-paste into a new window, add w w w, and enjoy

Now, I need to install a 38 or 39 rear sprocket to give me a lil' more top speed....hopefully 75 - 80 mph without sacrificing too much bottom, for hill climbs.
