How many YSR's are enough?

How many YSR's are enough? I mean, really. here I look at my local ebay link, and low n behold there are numerous YSR's for sale. Man, I already have one............why do I "need" another?

Sheesh, guess I'll have to stash the second one in my cousin's garage.

Do any of you other riders out there face this dilema?
Tell us your story. Tell us how many bikes you have gone thru, purchased, actually still own, etc...........and tell us the circumstances. these stories usually make for funny tales.

Luckily my wife has no clue who "barryallen" is cause if she did, I'd be a dead man.

Good question. I just found a YSR parts bike for 3,000Yen ($30). Everythings there except for the lower fairing. It's been outside for ages, so alot would have to be worked out. I'm really contemplating this one. Only problem is that I have to finish off the FZR250 and 1000, then sell them off. Next, I want (no make that have to) to build the NSR250. To top that all off I have to finish Career Devolopment Course by 1 April, and I'll be going to Korea for three weeks. I have to find time, because I enjoy building bikes. The learning process is what I get a kick out of.

I can say this tour in Okinawa has taught me alot. I hope my alliances hold up, because I can't imagine paying stateside prices for mini parts. You never know how good you have it until you're about to lose it.

ROL

I feel ya.......I have two, one race the other is my street/practice bike.
However, I have enough spares to build me a third YSR .....minus the harness & front brake assy

A friend and fellow racer recently put his two up for sale. The Stock Racer is sold, but the race w/c YZ80 is still up for sale. I truly wanted his bike, but have no room for 5th bike :cry And as you, my wife would kill me. And there is now way this bike would mesh/blend in with the garden gnomes........the color would stick out like a sore thumb .......LOL

I hear brothers of the YSR world!

i feel for ya brothers and fellow riders.
I too am always trying to find a way to acquire more and more and more bikes, and somehow not allow my wife to notice that I have anymore bikes, yet make her think it's the same bike.

trouble is that eventually I will end up using all of my relatives home free spaces (uncle and cousin) and then their spouses will call my wife and, well, there would be the end of that party...................ahhhhh, but acquiring them is such a rush aint it!

Bikes are not the problem... I got a bad habit of acquring spares for each bike and problems on where to house it.

I have the problem of acquiring them and not having time to finish them off. The job keeps me moving, I'll have to push to get them finished. Oh wait, I've just seen something else I've got to have (lol).

I just bought a few more spare for the 400. An Ethos exhaust for $300 and a spare front wheel for $100. I've been looking for these parts for almost 1 year.

Clane531. Even if you could get me a good deal on parts, shipping would be $ to the states. I check ebay daily for parts and most are located in the UK. Everytime I see a deal, I just jump on it even if I don't need it at the time

Eddie: If I knew your were looking for wheels it would've been a done deal a long time a go. The hardest things to come by here are the exhaust, but when they do come up, they're full exhaust systems with Carbon cans.

I just bouhgt a new set of black Coerce rear sets for $220 shipped. I already have a set of aftermarkets I paid $350 for used (they're in good condition). As for wheels, my next purchase will be magnesium NSR wheels. I also picked up a RS250 shock for $70 in excellent condition. I've found RS250 forks for a really reasonable price, but I may have to pass. Right now it's hurry up and wait.

Shipping isn't what most think it would be, afterall I'm using USPS and it's direct delivery to Cali. Let me know if you're in search of the small things. When I'm home, I'm always going out to a shop or dealers auctions and checking on parts.

The Honda RS250 front end?.. not to be mistaken for the Aprilia RS250, is probably the hardest thing to find in the States. A 2001 or newer Honda RS frontend would be the best upgrade to settle the front of the NC30.

Well if you do find one it's serious $s.

I've got Raynor rearsets and Ethos exhaust on both my NC30s. I've got 3 aftermarket tail sections now, 2 spare rear 18" wheels, Magura clipons, etc.

The trackbike has an NC35 front end, that I have yet to test on the track. It was recently rebuilt by Aftershocks and buttery smooth compared to my OEM NC30 cartridge forks on my roadbike.

You know what I am in the hunt for is an aftermarket rear shock. I bought a Penske for my roadbike for $700 new. I'd like to get another, but I'm sure my wife would kill me. I may swap out the Penske to put on my track bike and rebuild the stocker Showa... unless I find a used but good condition aftermarket.

Let me know what you find at the auctions Clane... and if you find a killer price on a full exhaust with carbon fiber cans it would be much appreciated. MHP or the JHA twin-stinger pipe for the V4 400 would be killer. I'd sell one of my Ethos in a heartbeat.

When you move to the states, where are you planning on residing?

Eddie: About every two weeks the RS250 shocks become available. There's a twinstack exhaust at the auction now. I'm not sure about the cost as it has no buy now price (I make the majority of my purchases this way) I'll check on it today. The twins come up quite frequently, they are all types of brands, but they all have the carbon cans.

Barryallen: There's a YEC at the auction now, it's listed at 8,000 YEN the auction ends tomorrow. I'll keep my eyes out in the mean time, I'm going to post some pics of the new mini shock. It's exclusive as the cost is CRAZY! For years they said you couldn't make mini shocks the same as the Premier big bike shocks. We I've found it and it's awesome but I can't afford it. Pics to come later.

Barry: 8,000 YEN is about $80, the YEN to Dollar rates continue to fluctuate. Not sure if that particular shock is still availble though. YEC's are always up for auction though.

Eddie: Most of the systems this past week have been ranging between $200-$650 dollars. Ethos is the most expensive, however I have a Vega Sports exhaust and it kills the Ethos and JHA full systems. I've had them both. I've never had the Ethos Racing System, it's said that it's the ultimate VFR system. Those are rare on the auction circuit.

Both: I'll keep my eye out this week, and let you know if there's anything available at a decent price.

Wow! I really really need to get over to Japan sometime soon! Not only for the crazy little bikes but also for the Silvias and Skylines! Why do they get all the cool stuff???

Hopefully I'll have the same problem of having too many bikes someday but right now I'm having problems just trying to find 1! I almost had a nice YSR50 but thanks to e-bay someone got it from me with .01 seconds left. Then I was all set to get an '01 GPR50 for $2000 but now my car had an accident so all my money had to go to that and now that I've got some bike money yet again, there seems to be a draught of nice bikes or something.

If anyone suffering from stabelitis would like to join my 12-step recovery program towards a thinner herd or has a project bike that might not get done this year but maybe the next, let me know. Thanks!
