M1-Grandprix 50 Stock YSR

Not much of a build, at least right now. But I would like to showcase the bike and the parts that were given to me. The bike was given to me by Al Lyons who ran the CMRRA for 16 years, the parts were given to my by Shawn Bassett at bassettmotorsport.com as part of a sponsorship program. So this is the only YSR on Team BMS Racing.
Little history on the bike (what I know):
-1990 YSR
-Bike was formerly John Hopkins back-up bike. He still owns his main bike.
-Was a race rental for the CMRRA for several years. Everyone lost interest in YSR racing and so it mostly sat.
-Fox Shock
-Second fork spring
-Stock 50cc engine (that runs very well last time I shared the track with it)
-Some sort of upper aluminum clamp that I don't recognize.
-Given to me by Al after deciding that he didn't want to sell it for next to nothing, but didn't want to keep it in the garage. He knew I would put it to go use. So, here it is.
I am experimenting on what mods need to be done to get an equal footing on HP (taking into account rider weight) against the NSR since that is who I compete against. A stock engine bored to 60cc helped, but wasn't all there. I am trying this engine at 50cc with a pipe next to see what I get. If that doesn't do it, then I will put the 60 parts on this engine with the pipe and see if that works. That will probably be as far as I go since I want to keep the YSR under a budget, to set an example of what you can do on a budget. I hope the parts that BMS provided help to prove that you can run up front against the NSR on the old YSR.
The bike. I didn't take any pictures when I got it, I took these after I had already started working on the bike. I still need to send the plastics to get painted, but it is race ready as of now (next race is in my signature). My faithful old '87 in the background, I am trying to convince my wife to race it instead of the one she has now.

BMS carbon fiber front fender. Bolts on pretty easy. It is hand made so you can not expect the fit and finish that you would get from a factory Honda, but it was a clean install.

Here you can see that the fender will clear the TCR fork brake, I assume it will clear the YSR50 brace as well. Did I mention that the fender weighs nearly nothing?

BMS carbon fiber frame gap covers. Fill in one of the areas in the frame for a cleaner look. Again, they weigh nothing so there isn't a performance loss from extra parts

The covers slide right on with no effort. You don't even need to bolt it on, it fits perfect in place.

BMS carbon fiber rear fender. Really nice piece that bolts on and fits perfect. No worry about throwing road gunk up the inside of the bike. Important since I don't run an air box.

See where the carbon clears the shock, no rubbing. Luckily for me, the bike came with a Fox

The rear sets, they look like they came from the factory. I was really impressed when I pulled them out of the box because they are light, and they are very clean.

Notice they have two positions available. They also come with two options for length (long for comfort, short for clearance).

Old? Maybe, but I am still mixing it up with the NSR50's! The YSR is not a dead racing platform!
