They are custom made for mini-motogp racing. i'm going to the warehouse tomorrow to check em out. I know they are a bit pricy but hey, if someone is gonna spend $3000 on a small Blata.......krap for another 8 or 9 hundred more, I'd prefer to get this slick racing machine that is at least larger and more comfortable to ride.
Just another option from the moto world from which to chose from.....
thought you guys would like that...........I'm going to see them up close and personal tomorrow. Maybe, if I remember, I'll take my digital camera and post up some fotos........although, I really don't know how to post up some fotos so if maybe one of you guys wanna post em up for me, I'd gladly email you the fotos to put up.
These Metrakit bikes have caught my attention now for quite some time. they are sexy and are a nice size too. If they are anything like the NSR-50 from Honda, they are gonna be sweet.
yah it does look pretty sweet, but for 4 g's id rather get an aprilia rs250 2 stroke. see here i go again. sorry guys. but dang for the money theres soooo much more out there in the real bike world. i guess im a little biased toward the real thing. but like i said before if i had the money to burn, youre damn right id get one of those too!
Right but these are made for a different purpose. Some people ask why I got a Euro or why anyone would get one for that matter when for the price we could have gotten a "real" bike. Well a real bike is meant for transportation where as a PB is meant for strictly having fun on. That's not to say you can't have fun on a big bike.
Just drawing some differences. This bike is a really nice bike and would love to ride a 6 speed 2 stroke with those looks. I would be down to pay that much but not at the moment.
I'm almost tempted to agree with having a "Honda NSR-50" as well. the parts alone could kill ya on that Metrakit bike. it's from Spain and there are few places here in the U.S. that will carry those metrakit bike parts...........whereas the Honda NSR-50 would have parts that can easily be purchased at the dealer.
The Honda dealers have informed me that there is indeed no warranty other than the 30 day warranty on the NSR-50's. Reason: because the NSR's are made for track racing therefore they "Honda" cannot take responsibility for a one year warranty on the bike if you trash it racing..............very sneeky Honday.......consumer pays $3500 for a nice race bike, then Honda clauses the contract out by stating, "oh yeah, by the way, since it's for racing, we can't warranty what you are going to do with the bike".................
But back to the subject at hand, that Metrakit bike is nice and I can't wait to see it first hand tomorrow.
the aprilia run around 3000 new, about 1,500 used if you can find em. they can get up to 80mph and are street legal. not sure on exact size, a bit bigger than the cateyes. not exactly the size of a sportbike though.

the Aprilia's RS50 run around $3800 new.........if you are in socali that is. Now if you are in say, Fargo, yeah, you can get a Ducati for about 7K. and the Aprilia RS50's are NOT street legal. they are two stroke bikes and most states don't allow 2 strokes on the streets.......not even if they have turn signals, brake lights, etc.........
the ApriliaRS50 is a track only 50cc race bike made by the company Aprilia. Aprilia also makes the larger full sized Mile's, Tuono's and a few others.....

I'm afraid that is incorrect . The Aprilia RS50 is a 49.5 cc 2 stroke and is classified in most states as a "Moped" . As long as it meets the individual state requirements for lights, horn and signals, it can be liscensed and insured for street use . The 1976 Federal rule that you are referring to applies only to large displacement 2 strokes . (larger than 49.5cc)
Most 2 stroke sitdown scooters (Kymco, Derbi, Italjet, Yamaha etc) fall under the same guildlines.
