K2K turnout awesome, race pics and results

Hey guys here are some action shots from today at Kart2Kart. We had a total of 38 racers entered!!! That was a great turnout and I hope everyone will return in two weeks. No one got hurt and everyone got faster as the day progressed. I would like to ask that next time we have a few more volunteers to help us with flagging and scoring, also when you crash or your bike stalls please get it off the track immediately. Do not reply to this post just yet as I am typing the first reply now with race results, points, and podium photos then you guys chime in and let us know what you thought and maybe some suggestions for next time. We want to make this is fun and competitive for everybody and all of the input will be considered and valuable suggestions will be implemented.

Ryan, I thought you had Ricky covered in that race, he dove in on you on the second to last turn and cut your line off and I saw you guys bump, if you just went wide and kept your momentum you would have got him. EXCELLENT job for a bike that was not as powerful as many of the others in the heat, you did a great job getting the max out of that thing.

Actually Diablo, you lapped them so you were on your cool down lap but they were on their last. How do you like that snap shot of your wheelie?

It's a great shot! It's really hard to get good pictures inside K2K so Kristen did a great job!

I think that the racing there is goning to be great this year. The mid bike class will get more competitive soon. Troy raced me really good and I know some of the others will be fast there soon. K2K is a tricky track and can be hard to come to grips with due to the shiny spots in the track. The only real advantage I have right now is the fact I know the track really well. I race karts there during the winter with an endurance "trackday" type outfit so I have a lot of laps around there. You get way more grip there than you think too. The 2 stroke X1's are going to be tough for me soon. They make maybe 3 times the HP as my little tardo...

My bike is a stock bore motor but I have done some work to it like the exhaust, gearing and the spark box. It all helps pull the bike through corners and K2K is a tight track. Get me out to Fremont and you guys hand me my azz on the straight away...

All in all Sunday was some great racing and it's good to see the younger guys and gals having fun out there to. The more time you spend on the bike the faster you will go. Being smooth is the key to going fast...keeping good corner speed...not upseting the bike by throwing alot of input at it, like the brakes and bars... Bart noticed I touch the brakes in only two spots on the whole track... a little in turn one and then just enough at the end of the back straight to set the bike for the corner...

See you guys in two weeks!

See you guys in two weeks![/quote]Thats because you can down shift also On my X1 i'm only on the brakes twice also maybe three after the two straights and in the tight kink. you do have an unfair advantage though. Like you said some of us will be getting faster and that is true. Already put in an order for more power mods today! Thanks to troy making me want to go faster! Also how do you quote somebody correctly?

I have heard the cries before about Diablos bike having an unfair advantege and I disagree. If the X1s were all stock than I would say yes but since almost nobody is running a stock bike I think the tables are even and with more mods will be turned on him, you guys need to sit back and watch him like I did for a little while and give him more credit than the bike, he is a very good rider to watch and is incredibly smooth and consistent in his lines, when I get a midbike going for myself I will have no fear running 2 inches from this guy because he is never going to slice your line. I hope to have a super motard class next year but for now unless you guys really all object I think his bike should run with the midbikes, remember that Troy got him in the first heat so it is possible for you guys to beat him. I will say this before I finish, if anyone thinks his bike is that unfair and wants to credit his bike for the success and not his riding, I challenge you to ride his bike as fast as he does.

I agree with Bart, the man owns the track with the motard. i have about 3 laps of experience on one and it is a different ball game sitting a foot taller than normal. i dont see an unfair advantage, he is almost at a disadvantage with the tiny profile tires and the height, and weight of the bike. He rides the wheels off of it and looks good doing it, Keep it up Diablo!

3 laps experience, I think I know what bike you are talking about. It has a 42 tooth rear sprocket and I tried to get a 50 for it but it did not make in time for the race, that would have been interesting to fight that long travel suspension with the raw power against the smoothness of the CRF.

My 3 laps courtecy of Bart of course. i didnt learn untill later that that bike had an italian 2 stroke in it. it definately has potential. can the tire rub be worked out somehow? what is the front sprocket like a 12 or so?

10 tooth front, you should ride that bike when you have the room to get on the pipe, it breaks the back end loose, the clutch is adjustable from the factory and has a little hole that you can get in without removing anything for adjustment, I do not have it turned up since the bike is new and I did not want to put any wear on the clutch or have it not seat in properly. The shock is adjustable so I will tighten it down and with the 50 tooth let you try it again, you have my personal guarantee that you will say it makes insane power for a kids 50cc dirt bike, it is 13hp liquid cooled.
