Midwest Mini Moto Winter Racing Club at www.kart2kart.com (PBP approved link) by Owner...
The purpose of this club will be to provide a racing outlet for miniature racing motorcycles on an indoor course for the duration of the winter months during the later part of the year 2004 and beginning of 2005. The club is non-profit and the membership fees will be used solely to cover the cost of track rental, trophies, awards banquet and possibly an electronic timing system should there be enough money.
The proposed race dates are:
10/31/04 (I know it is Halloween but the race is in the morning)
11/14/04
12/12/04
1/9/05
1/30/05
2/13/05
3/13/05
Bike classes:
Cag/Daytona Stock class- this means no internal modifications and bikes are limited to 40cc, anyone with a factory big bore kit will have to run in the modified class, pipes, carbs, rocket keys, gearing and clutch upgrades are permitted since they only offer nominal gains and most people already have them. ( no, your engine is not 47cc)
Cag/Daytona Modified class- anything goes as long as it is based on any of the small Chinese pocket bikes with modified Chinese motors.
Midbike Class-any midsize “pocket rocket” as they are commonly referred to. Any modifications are allowed as long as the bike is based on any of the Chinese pocket bike motors, ported heads, carbs, big bore kits, tire and suspension upgrades are welcome. This class may later be divided up if there is a strong showing in this class and there are enough stock bikes to create a stock class.
Junior class-all those 15 and under on any pocket bike or midsize will run together, this class will only be held on event days that we have at least 5 entrants or else the Juniors will be mixed in the classes that their bike falls into
Production Class-MMMRL Production Class rules apply
Open Class-Run what you brung as long as it is a pocket bike, Chinese water cooled and highly modified air cooled bikes will only be permitted in this class if the bike and rider have shown significant enough speed to not be deemed a safety hazard on the track which we have yet to see but I suppose it is possible.
Our track time on the dates is limited to 4 hours. The first 2 hours will be practice and the 2nd two hours will be when we run the different class heats. There will be a minimum of 2 heats run in each class and possibly a 3 rd heat if time permits.
The points system will be as follows for each heat
1st place- 100 points
2nd place-90 points
3rd place-85 points
4th place-80 points
5th place-75 points
6th place-70 points
7th place-65 points
8th place-60 points
9th place-55 points
10th place-50 points and so on for additional places 5 points down each place
There will be 25 points awarded to each participant if you are at the track but cannot start your heat due to a mechanical problem. These points are awarded to encourage attendance at all races and so that if your bike becomes disabled during practice you are not going home empty handed and are not automatically out of the championship points.
Trophies will be awarded in each class for the finishing order of the day which is the 2 or 3 heats that we run combined. In the case of two or more participants scoring the same amount of points for the day the nod will go to the person who finished higher in the last heat that we ran. A season champion will be crowned in each class at the end of the season when we tally all the points totals from all of the heats.
All racers must wear protective clothing. The minimum is: *** approved helmet, leather jacket, long pants, knee pads, gloves and shoes or boots that cover the ankle.
All bikes must have and will be checked prior to being allowed on the track: functional front and rear brakes as well as an ignition kill switch. Bikes leaking any fluids will be black flagged immediately and repairs must be made before it is allowed back on the track.
Cost will be $25 per person for each race or $100 prepaid for the whole season (works out to $14.29 per race) The club will be started only if we can get enough members to cover the track rental.
Please reply with your info if you are interested and if you would pay the $100 up front or pay $25 for each race you will enter. I need quite a few guys or gals to commit to this so that we can get this started.

i sent troy a pm, and i would probably pay the 100 up front. later
It is in the Northern Detroit Suburbs, about 20 minutes from Downtown. Kart2kart is the track and if you put a *** com at the end of the name you will go to their site, I can't post a link since they are not a pbp sponsor. All the races are on Sunday mornings from 9 am till 1 pm
I'm in and I'll pay the $100 up front. I've spoken with Troy via PM and he's got my contact info.
Do I have to pay double to run in multiple classes? I'll have an air and water cooled bike.
Banzai !!!!!!!!
I'm in and more than likely my son too. We would pay the $100 up front. Just let me know when and how we can pay. I believe you have my email if not just pm me.
No, you don't have to pay double but it would be nice if you pitched in a little extra since you qualify for more trophies by running in multiple classes. This club only wants to cover the costs and nothing more while creating a fun environment and providing trophies to the winners. No one will make money on this, if we get more than the costs we will just have a really nice banquet for the series trophies presentation that everyone can attend or we can use some of the extra proceeds for a timing/scoring system with transponders, it would be neat to have qualifying laps and maybe even some additional points for the fastest lap.
The first date on the venue is a DEFINATE GO! WE WILL SEE YOU ON HALLOWEEN. We will be there from 9am till 1pm. Doors will open at 8:50 for sign up.

Bike classes:
Cag/Daytona Stock class: This means no internal modifications the stock cylinder must be used. These mods are allowed due to the stock parts always breaking: pipes, carbs, rocket keys, gearing and clutch upgrades are permitted since they only offer nominal gains and most people already have them.
Cag/Daytona Modified class: Anything goes as long as it is based on any of the small Chinese pocket bikes with modified Chinese motors.
Mid-bike Class (x1,Cateye,R1,380x ect.): Any midsize “pocket rocket” as they are commonly referred to. Any modifications are allowed as long as the bike is based on any of the Chinese pocket bike motors. Ported heads, carbs, big bore kits, tire and suspension upgrades are welcome. This class may later be divided up if there is a strong showing in this class and there are enough stock bikes to create a stock class. Any bikes with motor swaps will be run in this heat. They will be in their own class.
Super Motard bikes will be ran with the Mid Bike Class unless there are 4 or more. It will be an open class for now. Limited to a 110cc 4 srtroke or 80cc 2 srtoke! Come and Play With the Mid Bikes!
Beginner/Junior Class: All BEGINNERS and those 15 and under on any bike will run together. This class will only be held when there is at least 4 entries. On days we don't have enough entries the riders will be mixed in the classes that their bike falls into.
Production Class: Limited to 14mm carburetor, and 40cc No internal engine modifications. Any clutch, reed combination or air filter is allowed. No Malossi or Bizeta piston, jug, or head equipped motors are legal. No race pipes.
Open Class-Must be 16yrs or older: All pocketbikes may be modified, limited to 50cc. The MPBC reserves the right to waive the age requirement on a case by case basis only. Chinese water cooled and highly modified air cooled bikes will only be permitted in this class if the bike and rider have shown significant enough speed to compete without being a safety hazard to the other racers.
The track will be availible to us for 4 hours. The first 2 hours will be practice and the 2nd two hours will be when we run the heat races. There will be a minimum of 2 heats run in each class and possibly a 3rd heat if time permits.
Each position after 10th will be awarded 1 point. You must start the race to earn any points. DNFs will be awarded 1 point for starting the race! Awards will be given in each class for the top three Overall finishers. In the case of two or more racers scoring the same amount of points for the overall finish, the win will go the lower placed rider of the last heat we ran.
A champion will be crowned in each class at the end of the season. The overall points will be added up and the racer with the most points will be the champion. If somehow there is a tie the racer with the most combined(heat/overall) wins will win.
All racers must wear protective clothing. The minimum is: *** approved helmet, leather jacket, long pants, knee pads, gloves and shoes or boots that cover the ankle.
All bikes must pass a safety inspection before entering the track! 1: Functional front and rear brakes 2: Ignition kill switch must work. 3: Bikes MUST not leak any fluids! If any bikes are leaking any fluids you will be black flagged immediately. You must get off of the track and go directly outside if is Gasoline. If you don't have a Liquid Cooled bike it is likely gasoline leaking. If any bike is leaking Gasoline it MUST BE REMOVED from the building. Repairs must be made before it is allowed back into the building or on the track.
We have changed the cost to allow more people to be able to afford a membership. Cost for memberships will only be $30 per member. Only members will be counted for points.

The straightaway is 240ft long, you can got to the website (Kart2kart *** com) to see the track layout. The cags and midbikes are hitting 28-32 on the straight, the highest speed we recorded was 39 by an open class DM 13.5 horsepower. I actually run a 6/74 on the stock cag which tops me out at 27-28 but that is because I need the extra accelaration on this track due to my weight (268lbs with leathers and helmet) if you have a cag the stock gearing is just about perfect, on the midbikes just run whatever gear will top you out at about 30mph.
That is how its going to work. If you want to be a member and run for the champion series points you will need a $30 1 time membership fee (which is good until next Halloween) and $20 to race. If yujust wanna run it will be $25 and npoint will only be counted for the days events and not the series points. We are gonna try to have a awards banquete at the end of the winter series. Members will get a T-shirt with a picture of themselves and there bikes.
for more info check out the MidWest forums in racing organizations and look for Michigan winter racing. Thanks,Troy
You can come and ride any time for $25 but if you want to be in the Championship Points Series you will need to pay $30 each for 1 yr membership. Then racing is only $20 per person! You will get a T-shirt with a Picture of you and your bike/s with your membership. I don't wear hats and feel a Personilized T-Shirt would suit more people. We all wear T-shirts and all are still kids! LOL LOL Hope this clears thing up a little or alot.
See Ya,Troy

I wish it was only $20 for the whole year!
We could not rent the track for that. Sorry!
Its $30 for the yearly membership. Which includes a banquet and trophies at the end of the season. You will also recieve a T-shirt with your picture of you and your bike/s on the front. This alone is cost $20. If you don't want to run for the Championship points series than you can come and ride any of the dates for ony $25 for 4 hours on a indoor go cart track. Not bad compared to $15 for 10 min of Go cart time. Teh difference is you drive your own vehicle which is why we can offer it for only $25 for 4 hours! I hopw this helps and hope to see yu there. The list of rules and classes are posted in the racing organizations/mid-west/michigan indoor winter series.
Thanks,Troy
