Charging Issue

I upgraded my Mx500 to 48v. the stock batteries were is bad shape and wouldn't charge, so I ordered a new set from Razor.com. I connected em all up right, and plugged in the charger, and the green and red lights on the charger are on. Doesn't that mean that its not charging?

Re: Charging Issue

no that is it is fully charged when grean/red...ride the bike very lightly and discharge the battery for like 5 mnutes of slow riding(very easy on the take offs) then try and charge the batteries again..should work then

Red/Red is charging

flashing red's battery is bad or charger failure

Re: Charging Issue

call the company you got it from and request another charger...that one is not functioning correctly(was it TNC?...they sure sell a lot of junk, but they are happy to work things out and send another one to you....lack of testing on ther part it seems)

is the bike fast any? it will do 23mph to up to 25mph if your still going 18mph the batteries are not charging and the controller voltage protection is kicking on to save the batteries....

do you directly charge the batteries or use the stock charging port?

Re: Charging Issue

no battery connected will be red/red when you have it plugged in the wall and not to the bike....it really does seem like you got the shaft for that charger...dont act pissed when you call them, if your nice to them they will kiss you aS$ with service

Re: Charging Issue

Stop riding it, you will hurt the batteries if you take any more juice outa them... get the new charger very soon...like tell the company it is very very urgant you recive your replacement charger soon!

Re: Charging Issue

yup...but you have a 1week to 3 week window when the controller tells you the batteries are bad....

do you have access to a car charger?(computer AGM/GEL/ACID) if so disconect the main power take the batteries out and charge them individualy at very low amps(NO greater then 2amps)...as long as the battery pack is not plugged in you can just take the charger clips and go down the line with the batteries(one at a time) it should take about 45m-1.5 hours to do it....

NOTE: dont do this with a old school battery charger that does not have a charge brain and an option for gel batteries or you may burst a cell...very bad..GEL batteries if they explode they have a very sticky acid and the gas's thack come out from a venting gel cel are not that healthy

Re: Charging Issue

dont do that i just bought a battery tender also make sure when you connect the two circle metals make sure the bottom part of the metal is getting charged. if it is charging once you connect it for a second the red light should flash then stay there for a couple minutes then after that the red light should off and it might keep appearing because when the red light comes it means it has dropped a volt to the battery or it has done charge and you will know trust me write back to me if it works man iight
