fishing for info - meaning somebody made HUGE outrageous claims on what their ebike could do, and hasn't produced anything to back it up yet. So instead of bucking up and asking for help, they are on a hell bent mission to buy all the big $$ parts instead of taking the time to figure out what it will take to be competitive. Now I will say this, I plan on taking an ebike to BeaveRun as well, but it won't be until the fall. I am NOT going to claim it will beat a gasser on any level, since I really don't know what it will do.

And for the record, MOST of the gas riders are very interested in the ev stuff - they just don't feel the need to put up with the chest pounding, look at me attitude some EV builder's have put across. They are racer's and they prove it on the track, not behind a keyboard...

I will be bringing an ebike myself to BeaveRun in Oct...... BUT the only guarantee I make is that I have one hell of a jockey to pilot the thing. With the help of the masters here, I think people will be surprised when it is all said and done.
No, it probably won't have the latest and greatest electronics on it ( I don't feel like the most $$$ part is always the BEST MATCHED part.....but it will be well matched as far as acceleration, top speed, and ride time goes - I guarantee it. I have already got an ok to ride it in open practices at the races we will be attending this season.
well i guess the love exon had for the other site just didn't feel the same way.. cause they completely wiped out his whole forum.... so i'm guessing the race is off.... got any updates on this frank....

And that in a nutshell is the problem. A nonexisting "competition" with other EV builders. For what? Fame? Glory? To say they were the first to do it?
HERE IS WHY I WANT TO SEE MORE EBIKES:
I have no less than 18 (yes 18) gas powered pb's in my garage now for my team and I. I have exactly 2 electric rides: 1 bike and 1 scooter. I am trying to get as many ebikes ( or scooters ) built as I can. I realize that it will take help from everyone willing to make this happen, since like the gas bikes I would like to have different power packages. All the way from bone stock beater, to (hopefully) something that could give a low to mid class gasser some fight.
So now I ask: Any input? I KNOW there are at least 2 people who read this forum that have setups that are tried and true, and I am willing to listen....
