This is what I did:
Razor Minichopper, 250W motor, overvolted to 36V on the stock controller.
She had NO TORQUE ats all. Literally. I couldn't make it up my driveway going full speed (and then pretty much ramping up my driveway).
People burnt these motors out (from what I read on PBP), and many agree that those motors have awful power.
I switched to a 750W motor, and 48v controller + 8 batteries. Stock gearing (just like before), I could now ride on grass easily. However, speed was still so-so ish, torque was phenomeonal considering what I had lived with before (250W)...
And then I put 60V on it. Now I can ride through virtually anything! No matter how thick the grass, it doesn't stop pulling
