please help w/mx500

i have got a mx500 from a friend and i just replaced the battery when i turnd it on the chain would move but not the tire anyone know why???? (battery was straight out the box and is charging now)

I believe the rear wheel on those is a "Freewheel" setup like on a bike, It's a ratchet type setup and I bit it broke.

I would try to pull the wheel off and test it, Or find a new one.

losen up the rear axle and take off the whole back wheel then you will be able to check everything out more closly...
make sure the tire spins freely on the axle without the chain and like what nickj said... make sure the freewheel is working properly along with the bearings
and what ever the problem is, it should be easy notesible when you take off the back wheel

If you disconnected the motor wires make sure the wires are not reversed. If the motor runs in reverse the sprockets will “free-wheel”.
