Arrow PR-200 Help me fitz it.

New to PB's just aquired this junk of a PR-200. It doesn't really go at all unless I lift up the back up the bike and roll the throttle. The batteries test over 12v each and are off eachothers charge by .3-.4 difference. I figured by looking online that the motor is faulty. Don't care to make it fast since my boy'll be riding it. Just bought a new motor. Seems to be acting the same. Letting it dy compleatly now so I can give it a full charge, after that last test. Never let it die all the way before. Any pointers? throw it away and buy guitar hero?

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

I'm not really going to throw it away. I don't want to get a different pb either. I just want to figure out how to test the components and know what's bad on it.

It goes much faster now that I allowed it to get pretty low, charged it and ran it. I'm not sure if the new motor did that or not. Didn't change it much fully charged, then after the battery drain and charge it was better. Still pretty week power though. It barley moves my 150 lbs across the living room.

This one is the old model that the foot pegs are welded to the frame. Not folding.

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

This this was supposta be cheap!!! It sure is running better than it was before though. I'm going to drain it down yet again and see if that helps a bit. I think my trouble now might more be it wont keep a strong charge for more then 5-10 mins

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

if you motor was bad you would know it... signs that it may have over heated pass the point that it damaged your motor is: it would be hesitating when you try to ride it... and it will not go pass 10mph..if you had a problem with the controller you would know it cause it would not work at all... from what i've read on your post sounds like you need new batteries... here's a great place to get them here.... here's a 2 pack from the same company, good luck

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

Thanks for the information. Before I had the new motor in it didn't go if I sat on it. Now it will for a short time. So that does sound like battery. Batteries I can test the volts on, I'll get another reading so I know for sure. I wonder if batteries plus wouldn't be better buy since no shipping. Prolly have to wire it myself though. Maybe just just order the two pack 'n' call it good. ...I'll get that reading.

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

12.56 volts and 12.99 volts on each. So go ahead and replace the one 12.56 battery? Or does anyone know?

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

With all these new parts, should I have just gotten the higher grade stuff so it goes faster? Is there a decent used market for parts on the net?

More importantly is 12.56 volts too little for one of these bats. I assume they should be at the same reading.

there's your problem it should be reading 13.0-12.8 volt... that one batteries is draining which is draining the other one that's still good.. if you where using them batteries for a light it would be good but not fora pb... batteries in series should be reading about the same maybe
.10volts +/-....... replace then both not just the bad one... but keep the good one just incase you decide to mod to 36volts........

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

I bought the 2 pack off the site you sent me. So are you saying if I jamed the 3rd good battery in there, replaced the controller, motor, and throttle thing to 36v that'd be it or would there then be more?

a lot a guys been adding another battery and just changing the controller... and getting 26mph out of her... if you don't beat the crap out of it the motor will last but if you go crazy on the throttle you gonna burn up the motor....
so if you decide to do that then this is all you need.....
(1).....36volt controller(the 40amp or higher works good)
(1)..... 12v/7amp battery( that's where your extra battery comes in handy)
that is all you need... throttle and motor stays the same...
should only cost you 40bucks if that...
my friend lenny a pbp member here did that about a year ago and he's 190 or 200lbs. and he rides his a lot and stays a steady 26mph... and says it runs great... btw that is with the stock motor...

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

Bad ash! sounds like a very easy up-grade I'll have all but the controller for. Plus, I see myself having a hard time not abusing it a little. I've got this other motor that is probably fine as a spare too! Sounds super sweet. I'll just have to keep it on the down low and just order that controller 'eh? =)

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

which controller do I get for the pr-200? 6 - 8 connector? 40 amp for sure. About 24. at T'nC not shiped though. Or is it 5 connector as my pb has that many white connectors? =) but that can't be right cuz TnC doesn't have any of those.

suggestions? and.. . Could I just disconnect a battery to get less power for the boy to ride if needed?

Sorry, the stock charger is only for 24volts

here is a list and prices to help you out, Razorama *** Com

Razor MX500 Throttle (4-Wire)
8190043pad Price: $17.95pad

Razor MX500 Battery Charger
8190014pad Price: $29.95pad

Razor MX500 & MX650 Control Module CT-312C1
8190015pad Price: $20.95pad

The stock throttle on the PR200 is now a on off one speed deal. this will not be safe for a 36volt start. You will load up your motor and fry it. I would buy the four wire MX500 throttle because it is a way better way to go about the install. Combine that with a MX500 control Module and now you have already done the hardest part, trying to fig out the wires and which one connects to each other. Most people you will find here if you read the older posts had trouble with the throttle wires a lot when they install the new control module. The MX500 is a 35amp RMS controller. I have had a breaker to one and had drawn over 45amps out of the control module before the breaker popped.

This is just my recommendation,
it is the cheapest way out for you if you do the math

Re: PR-200 Help me fitz it.

Well I guess screw all the upgrade crud. I installed the new batteries and it runs good for 40 mins or so. The little kids get going pretty fast and since my boy can't even ride yet I'll leave it be. I enjoy it as is for now too.
