Slowing down PR200 Pocket Rocket

I have a Razor PR200 (Razor) Pocket Rocket that's for my three year old. I put training wheels on it and need to slow it down to about 1/2 it's speed (7 mph). What would be the best way to do this? A throttle modification or some how limit the moror output? I got 5 days before he comes home to see the bike.

How about this controller? 24 Volt 150 Watt Universal Speed & Voltage Controller

If it's only letting the motor control get 150 watts that's got to slow it down right.

go to razorama and get a e200 or e300 controller
al;l the wiringing should match up to your pr200 nicely

Re: Slowing down PR200 Pocket Rocket

I went to the site and it says the e200 and the pocket rocket have the same controller. Razor Control Module - CT201C6 I found out the motor is 150 watts, so would a 75 watt controller cut the speed in half?

Re: Slowing down PR200 Pocket Rocket

watts dont matter in this... you want to look at the amps

btw the stock motor is 250watt
but you just want a 24v control thats under 29amps
your probly have to do some reasearch online and take some time to find a good one

ill hit you back if i find a good one

Lol, good job being ignorant. You really think lowering the amps by 4-5 will make a difference? No it wont. People who upgrade from a 30A controller to a 100A one only see a 5MPH gain but ALOT more torque... and thats a 70A difference. Lowering the amps by 5 would MAYBE decrease the top speed by 1MPH and the torque slightly. Know what you are talking about before you attempt to correct someone who does.

AND THATS BECUASE YOU USE CHEAP *** CHINA CONTROLLERS THAT SAY THERE RATINGS ARE 100AMP WHEN THERE REALLY RUNNING 60AMPS!

UMMM... HOW DO YOU INCREASE SPEED OF A ELECTRIC VECHILE? YOU INCREASE THE AMOUT OF RPMS... HOW DO YOU INCREASE THE RPMS? YOU INCRESE THE AMPS GOING TO THE MOTOR... HOW DO YOU INCREASE AMPS GOING TO THE MOTOR? YOU GET A HIGHER RATING AMP CONTROL!

SO HOW DO YOU DECRAESE SPEED? A LOWER AMP CONTROL WILL ALLOW LESS AMPS TO THE MOTOR WICH WILL SLOW IT DOWN AND THE BATTERIES WILL LAST LONGER BECUASE YOUR NOT USING UP AS MUCH POWER AS WITH A HIGHER AMP CONTROL

by the way wiseass the amps coming from the control dont control the torque... the watts of the motor will control the torque

Re: Slowing down PR200 Pocket Rocket

The Kelly 100A controller that Streetridaz used isnt a cheap controller. VOLTS increase the RPM's and you need amps to get up to the max RPM's. Your idea of decreasing the amps by 4-5 wont do barely ANYTHING. WATTS increase the max RPM's. Instead of typing in caps trying to prove a false point Ill actually help this guy.--------------Ok so what you could do is get the 24v 12A controller from TNCScooters. It will make the bike take forever to get to top speed and it might lower it by 1-2MPH.

Re: Slowing down PR200 Pocket Rocket

yea beacuase street didnt have enuff powere from the batteries that the controller needs... you can go from 30 amps to 100amps and even 1000amps and get amazing speed along if your batteries can produce the amps....
and you seem to forget that hes loweering the speed not increasing it so decrease amps and going slower is more effective then increasing amps and go faster

oh and your trying to help?

what was your first reply? oh.. its not really possible.... bu bu bu bulllll ****

get a 20-25amp control and whahaa DONE PLAIN SIMPLE
THATS IT!!!

now stfu you ***
im done with this thread

Re: Slowing down PR200 Pocket Rocket

I found a 16 amp controller TNC Scooters (Scooter Sales and Service) but not a 12 amp. For $15 I might give it a try.
