Hi,

I'm located in Chicago. I noticed your bike. I've been thinking about getting the X-Treme XP-700. I'm seeing it on Ebay from a shop called Get Scooters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for about $238 delivered. Is this the bike you have? Do you like it? I weigh about 235lbs so I want to make sure it will move me.

Also, what kind of maintenance do you have with the electric?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Jef

x9

The x9 is a great bike i can't (i mean my girls can't stay off it) it is fast quite and looks good. It is also large enough for me to ride comfortably and at 190 i can ride my youngest and she weighs about 60 lbs. and maintain a speed of about 20 miles per hour.

I just wish that i could get longer drive times out of it, that is why i brought the x7 which is the same bike but gas.

if we could develop some type of alternator set-up to charge as we go SEVO it would be great.

I have read about lots of bikes but it seems to be the top of the line out of the box.

All,

most electric scooter/pocketbike manufacturer (especially the ones seen on ebay) stretch the truth as far as top speed and range. How I cope with range on my Etek modded 48v X1 when racing, I recharge between heats using Soneil fast chargers hooked up to an AC converter off of my truck's battery. After a strong race my setup is usually fully recharged in 20-30 minutes.

Hey Sevo, check your PM's. Havent been on the boards for awhile and just got your PM.

The x9 like advertised, is a great bike out of the box, it looks awsome it is comfortable, and it is plenty fast the 20mph is with me and my daughter on the bike together 190+65=255lbs at 20 mph is pretty good i have had it up to the 33 to 35 mph acouple of times when i ride.

Now my 15 year old is about 115 she said it read 41 on the speedo when she rides I will ask my 11 year old what she gets she is about 85 to 90lbs.

The bike came shipped in a metal frame cardboarded only little paint scrubs on the side of the faren and gas tank.

The brakes stop on a dime working head lights and signals and a pretty loud horn, it has blown a couple of fuses just the other day, but i was riding my youngest girl got about a mile away and darnit had to push it back with her on the bike. I found that i had the head lights on and since turned them off has yet to blow another fuse. I will however be calling them to ask what is the deal with this.

Again the only down side i see is the drive time far under the 1hour and 30 min as claimed or at least it feels that way i will time it the next time.

As far as i can see and for my first pocket bike i made a good choice i have seen the ones at pep boys smaller and just look like a toy this bike actually looks like its big brother, ninga

I do want to upgrade the cotroller to maybe the 100amp one that sevo has and get alittle more out of it but out of the box NUMERO UNO.

I will try and get some pics up soon have taken them with the SLR but not the digital . Hope this helps a little as I am new to this sport and can not offer any real technical review on seat of the pants.

Great Feedback!

This is great feedback! Maybe your run time was lower because the lights were burning up the battery? Just a guess. How much do the fuses cost to replace?

I was talking with SEVO and you may want to go with a 200 amp controller if your riding the heavier weights (over 200 lbs). Check around to see if the 100 amp is enough for you at 190lbs. I guess the 800 watt motor requires a little more juice if I understood him correctly. (I could be wrong).

If anyone has any feedback out there on what I should do I would appreciated it. I'm thinking about the xp-700 with an upgraded 100amp controller at about $330 delivered, or the X-9 at $395 delivered, and I'll probably have to upgrade the controller. I weight 235lbs and am 6' 2" tall. I don't really need lights and turn signals, but I like the speedometer.

Thanks for the feedback and let me know about the fuses.

Jef

Thanks for the feedback on the X9, I've seen them but haven't worked with them yet. Sounds like it's a nice ride. What size batteries does it have in it?, 12Ah?

As far as the motors go, the larger the motor rating, the more amos it'll draw, especially during take-off. I'm about 235 ans the 100A controller on a 800W is little on the light side. I would recommend a 200A controller for the 800W or 900W motors. For those new to this; volts X amps = watts, so if the motor size is larger and the voltag is still 36V then the amps is going to go up.

Have you checked the accuracy on the X9 speedo? I have heard a lot of the factory speedos tend to be inaccurate. Check it with a GPS or along side a car (please be careful with that one...)

I use cycle computers on my bikes and adjust them for wheel size.

Fuses i just went to the local autoparts store and got the short 30 amp fuses 1.89 for 4,

As far as the batteries they must be 12ah cause i have 3 of them

I have not checked the speedo for accuracey could be off but sure feels like it is going pretty fast my locs are in the wind when i ride.

Sevo how much for the 200amp controller and what kind of gains can i expect for the installation?

As far as the price man i was upset that only after a couple of days of recieving my bike the price goes down by a 100 bucks

keep you all posted on the progress thanks for the welcome and hospitality

I'm in NJ. I've got the X-Treme XP-700, but I don't call it that. I call it the Stallion. I think that sounds like a faster name.
