Racing classes in the US

Hi,

I was talking to a racer at the track yesterday and we discussed PB racing in different countries. I know next to nothing about PB racing in the US.

Can you tell me a bit about it or suggest some good reading? Are there uniform rules across the nation or is the racing and their respective classes different from state to state?

Regards,

A lot of the groups here use rules based on the european rules.
Most organizations run
a stock cag/2.5 class,
a modified cag/2.5 class,
production class (40cc 3 port engines, production pipe, standard crank, 14mm carb, no internal modifications allowed),
super production (40cc 3 port engines, race pipes, race crank, 14mm carb, no internal modification allowed),
Open (40 or 50cc 5 port engine, race pipe, race crank, any carb, internal case work is allowed),

Who are teh recognised racing body(s) in the US? Is there an US National series?

I race at a club in Colorado and we are looking at getting in to the bigger picture (what ever that is). Is there any series where local points go towards national events or finals?

USMGP National Racing Series

We conduct races at many different venues throughout the US. Go to www.usmgp.com and check out the class structure. We have two events coming up . One of them is this coming weekend at Fremont Raceway Park in Fremont,Ohio the National Finals are set for Bondurant Race School in Phoenix,Arizona the first weekend in November.
Thanks For your questions1
