110cc x6 starting problem

New 110cc x6, ran it couple of times no problem. Removed fairing to inspect bolts. When trying to start, I just get a "click" from the relay, but no cranking. Measured battery, reads 12.78v. Light comes on, horn sounds normal.Unfortunately, this bike has no alternate way of starting (no kickstarter).

sounds like a dead battery. when you measure a battery you need to use a load tester not just a voltmeter. try charging the bike and see what happens. if all else fails you might need a new battery. also check all connections from the battery to the relay and to the starter to make sure nothing is loose. RadioShack has some batteries for scooters. we get ours from a company named budget batteries here in the northwest.

Didn't suspect the battery because I just completed a ride and it started really strong. But if there's one thing I learned about these bikes, you never know. I've got a spare battery, so I'll give that a try. By the way, in general, how's everybody's 110 x6 running?

Except for taking forever to warm up the bike runs great. im going to change the gearing. the stock 14/37 is just too low for the 110, nothing like coming out of a corner whacking the trottle to go into a unexpected wheelie. i have a 16t counter sprocket and a 33t rear that im going to add 1 at a time to get some gps speed numbers on.

Just tried my spare battery, no go. Measured my wires point-to-point & short to ground, everything's good. Guess I'll order the 3 or so components in the circuit. By the way, I've got a 70cc x7 that the 110cc x6 can't catch (both stock). The x6 has a lot more torque from the start, but full throttle, can't catch that little munchkin. Ya' know, I like the appearance of the x6, but I like the feel of the x7 better. Also, the x7's steering seems like it's dampened to "spring" back toward the center. Cornering, it feels like it's "fighting" me, as if the bike wants to stand up straight. Huh, maybe I'm just a wimp at my old age.
