Alright guys! What is the best way to tune the X6?
I know I can get a better carb.. its not too expensive either.. £40From what I have read on the other threads the exhaust makes little to no difference.. so I might just see if I can get a custom one made. What about the clutch and engine internals? what is available and from where?I believe the exhaust and inlets etc. need smoothing down as they are quite rough and doing so creates better gas flow.Cheers guys!Highlander

an exhaust can make a difference but it compliments other parts better than just using alone. a better carb is a start but i would hold off until you do some other things. best things i can reccomend for the four strokes is a aftermarket CDI, and get a honda XR50 or CRF 50 ignition coil, Kitaco makes a good one, and gearing. you can fatten up your carb by either finding a jet that would work or if you have or know somebody with jet drills can resize the one you have. you might be able to use performance clutch springs but you would need to take your motor side cover off to see what style of clutch you have. if its a 3 shoe then springs are out of the ?, if you have a double disk plate style then you could add springs. You can get a cam and high compression piston but i would do all the other things before.

changing the coil pack and spark plug will give you a much better spark, this gives better throttle response and a bit more power. you have to remember you need to build a total package if you want full performance potential. the coil pack compliments the CDI very well, and is even better with either a fatter fuel mixture or a bigger carb. once you've done this a pipe will even further the performance, see where im going with this. after you've done the pipe a high compression piston (which i should get my hands on real soon) and a cam, at this point your motor should be a monster.

carb, filter, exhaust, cdi upgrade, cam, coil and vent the head. All those things compliment each other, and any of them without the other one won't give you the full effect.
When you get tired of that go get a 88cc race head and cylinder....

Cheers dude!
?? What would I get out of the 88cc race head and cylinder? From what I remember they are quite expensive?!
Re: Alright guys! What is the best way to tune the X6?
stick with your stock head for now, if you have access to race fuel Im working on getting some wholesale prices for high comression pistons in 52mm and 52.4mm. one would fit the 107 motor and the other for the 108, 125. you would be looking at 12 or 13:1 compression ratio. should boost the horsepower considerably. Prices should be under a hundred U.S. for piston, pin and rings.

How long should it take you to get those high-comp pistons?

The 52.4MM piston is out now. i think they fit the 108 and 125. the 52mm should be available in a week or two along with a aluminum cylinder and high compression piston combo, should be 114cc.

Most of the fuel I use is either 95RON or 97RON.. with additive I can get 100RON. Not used the additive yet.
Do octane boosters really make a difference?
$100? thats not too bad. What sort of increase do you get from changing the pistons?
Re: Alright guys! What is the best way to tune the X6?
were talking about a 110cc motor aren't we, I thought we were discusing a 50....
forget the 88cc race head in that case... my bad, unless you want to spring for a stroker crank too. That will put your power way above what a Chinese 125cc puts out, but it'll cost $$$ around 500 U.S. aprox.
Except for preventing premature detonation higher octane doesn't do much if anything in the way of power gains from what I've read.

Yeah dude, its a 110.. picking up my new carb at the weekend. I will no doubt be setting it up for a week after though. Any advice before I get it?
I am assuming its a 22mm as the stock one is 20mm and the others you can buy are a lot more than £60.
