Im not looking to race, just looking to have some fun - this will be a toy for me. Also are there any other bikes that are 4stroke 4 speed in either 49 or 70cc? Any sites I should be looking at as well for these bikes? Ebay is pretty limited on there 4/4 - only found 1 but is butt ugly.

Thanx.
I personally think the pros & cons just depends on where you live. Are you in wilmington NC? if so, with the 49cc engine your bike falls in a moped/scooter area. Thus no license etc. You just need to be 16+ and wear a helmet (thus the popularity of the 49cc bikes, it's a legal thing).

However, the 70cc puts you in the motorcycle class, meaning you legally need to get it tagged, registered and have your motorcycle license, just like a full blown motorcycle. Check out my earlier post located earlier in this thread. You really need to check with your area to see what's what.

If you aren't going to have it on any public roads, then there's no need to be concerned about the legal BS.....so go bigger.....

Yup wilmington NC. I moved here from Hawaii a few years ago, where I was heavily into sport bikes. Now I have a child and have settled down quite a bit, but still long for somthing to work on and have a little fun with. I am not concerned about legal issues, as I will only be using this as a toy in my neighborhood (where no one would care not even my cop neighbors)

Well you answered my Q... Bigger is def. better.

Thanx.

glad I could be some help. Still might want to be careful tho. If I'm not mistaken someone in this thread posted about getting tickets in his neighborhood...like 2 houses up from his own. Just be aware that you could get into trouble on public streets. I'm in Charlotte, NC and I'm going to attempt to get my 70cc bike registered sometimes after christmas. I'll be sure to post the results.....

Im a research fanatic before any large purchase, and actually now Im thinking about the 4 stroke 4 speed 49cc and just modding it. From what I've found the 49cc and 70cc dont have that much difference - few small modds and I'd be at the 70cc power... Still trying to verify all this information. There is so much bull out there about these bikes it's hard to find concrete info.

Yea that was me. I had to register my X2 as a moped(It is scary cruizing 45mph next to cars on a 2 lane rd at door handle level) to avoid the no proof of insurance ticket. I still had to pay the unregistered vehicle ticket. I even registered it and showed the judge that I was responsible enough to follow the laws after learning the technicalities. I live near Detroit, MI. They are offering moped stickers to the gas scooters to try to limit the riders to the necessary 14 years old law. You still need a moped license or some sort of legit license!

How many things did you have to change on the bike to make it compliant with the relevant american laws for bikes?? The chinese bikes would have to be totally rebuilt to comply here in Australia before they could be registered

OK, I've finalized my search - Im going with a 49cc 4stroke 4 speed semi-auto bike. I can always do performance parts if it is not enough. That is the most fun of any hobby - the fixing and upgrading..

Lets just say that I did not have it inspected by the State Police for *** approval. I did have the vin number checked for any prior registration or if its stolen. After the vin came up clean the officer signed the vin inspection sheet. I then took it down to the Sec. of State and registered it as a moped! They are starting to give moped license(sticker) out for gas scooters to try to keep children under 14 off the streets(that is the required age).

I hooked up a brake light and everything else was there. It is now legal and I still don't drive it on the streets that much. It blows cylinder bolts every time I go on a haul. Just meant to be a race bike, that is the way I built it.LOL

RX-12 (70cc)

Ebay, item #4512770525. Nice bike. Something about the back looks a little strange. Maybe it's just all the space between the seat and the rear tire.... just looks a little odd........

Nice tho.

BadAZZToyz..... Yall got these in yet? how much are you guys selling them for?
These guys want $600........

very interested.

i am very interested in the BT-RX12 4 stroke 4 speed midbike I know there are issues with the shifting . is there a fix ? does the china company plan to produce an international shifting version ? I love how it looks like a new Ducati and if there is no fix for the shift ...hell ill just put an honda XR100 engine in it!

or you could get a 125cc engine from bad azz when they come in like me I think a 125cc engine will make a pretty fun toy.. Also Im pretty sure his engine is going to be a 1 down 3 up shift pattern like a standard cycle.

It's a great bike either way! I cant seem to stop looking at it. Good Luck with you decision.

Here in Cali with ******** our 2005 rules will allow 4 stroke X-bikes up to 110cc to race in our "Shifter 50cc" class.

Can BADAZZ produce a kickAZZ 110cc 5 speed with the correct shifting?

im debating what tranny to use because alot of people will not want to give up one of their brakes for a fully manual tranny and others will not want a fully automatic and i dont know if i want a semi auto. Guess ill have to do some testing
