ok i ordered a set of hyraulic brakes for my x1 yesterday and so i did a search on how to bleed them before i did anything myself and this was the best information i found:
Quote:
open the lid on the brake handle and brake, then open the bleeding screw on the calliper, dont let go of the brake, then close the bleeding screw and let go of the brake, repeat until the brake is stiff and works as its supposed to do, remember to fill the brake handle tank with oil as the oil level sink...
if you put a tube on the bleeding screw then you can put the other end of the tube in a jar and wont spill any oil...
another way to do it is to open the handlebar lid and let it stand open for 24 hrs and then gently brake until it wont come any bubbles out of the hole at the bottom of the oil tank..

it is a tick hard to understand where it says:

then close the bleeding screw and let go of the brake, repeat until the brake is stiff and works as its supposed to

should i close the bleed screw and let off the brake then hold the brake in and open the bleed screw over and over? i was slightly confused on exactly what to do on that part. if someone could give me the retard detailed explaination of how to bleed a hydraulic brake system i would greatly appreciate it.
thanks,
