Lighting Up the Bike

Okay guys, remember how I have always made those annoying posts about cold cathodes about 3-4 months ago? Well now I played around and got them cold cathode neons hooked up! Also, in this video, I have hooked up 2 LED brake lights. How? Well, there was a brake light plug underneat the seat, took off the seat, plugged my black wires to 1 black hole, 1 red one to the green hole, clicked the brake lever, and it lights!

did you wire the neons to the battery? Do you think i can just wire 2 cathodes to the headlight wires so the headlight switch activates it? and the headlights.. you changed em? and if u did.... to 12v LEDs?

Yeah that's what I did, just wired them to my headlights, then added a fuse, and a rocker switch. So when I have the headlights on, I can turn on the neons while headlights are on, and I can turn the neons off when the headlight is still on. I didn't hook it to the battery because I would have to take off the seat, the gas tank, the wires, and there is not much space to put solder the wires. You can add any 12v source to the bike.

Re: Lighting Up the Bike

great job. that looks sharp. my tail light is more old school looking. I was wondering how one of thoes led light tubes might look if mounted under there. wow thats definately sharp. I got to stop by the store and pick up a light tube, and some other stuff. the wiring it to the light and adding a switch is a great idea.
