Very few things hold up to gasoline, better have Cam chime in with what he used.

Re: My x7 conversion to x18

Its better to use the 5 min plastic welder...Its made by Permatex and comes in a two part mix-up version thats way better to use than hot glue and im sure you dont want to be dripping gas on a hot engine if the glue doesnt hold up...The plastic welder can be purchased from alot of places that sell epoxies..The other alternative is JB Weld...... but make sure to prep the tank around the nipple with sandpaper to get the best adheision....Peace

My friend made his own custom swingarm. He got most of the pieces of metal from his work and homedepot. He said he only spent around 30. It was no problem for him because hes a pro welder.

That's pretty cool, but here's the thing. I'm not a pro welder. haha. And I have no experience with welding what so ever. Do you have pictures of the swingarm that he made? I'm interested on how it looks.

I dont have a pic since its not my bike, but ill ask him to send me some pics of his bike..... and he doesnt live nearby me... i only met him back when i was in college and that is about 40 miles away from me, anyways, what i can say about hes swingarm is very simple but clean and looks good on his bike he painted it black. hes GSXR 600 looks pretty tight too even though he lives in a **** farm....

Re: My x7 conversion to x18

So I got all my fairings on the x7 now. Everything is pretty much assembled. I have the forks, rims, swingarm from the x18 and now I ran into a problem. It's common and I read it all the time when people have their bikes almost complete. So the problem is that my bike is not starting! haha. I can hear it about to start you know. That sound it makes when you kick it. I recently changed that spark plug. I remember starting it a while back when teh bike wasn't complete. After that tho I also remember taking the wiring harness off completely and then putting it back on. That might be a problem as well. So what can it be? Let me know people.

Check all your grounds and your coil connections...If theyre good try tapping the floatbowl with a heavy handled screwdriver......When the gas fumes out of the bowl it leaves a residue behind that acts like glue and makes the float needle stick. The float restrictor tab also aids in problematic startups if not removed ..........Peace

Now does anyone know how many turns the idle screw and the fuel/air screw turn? For the stock 110cc x7?

Re: My x7 conversion to x18

the factory a/f screw setting is 2 turns out...Check the carb connection out ,,,its not uncommon to put the isolator in backwards or upside down. The best way to see if it will fire is to shoot ether into the carb.............Peace
