Parts/Mods for X6 4-Stroke 110cc???

Hey guys,

I'm new on both the site and on MidBikes/ PocketBikes. I'm thinking about getting an X6 4-Stroke 110cc and was wondering what type of mods/parts are out there for them. The Midbike FAQ has been helpful as well as some other threads in here. I was wondering if those HP Walbro carbs work with the X6s? Also how about the filter upgrades and spark plugs? From what I'm reading it seems out the box they all these chinese " pocketbikes" come with generic/crappy parts that could use upgrading.

I was concerned about the noise level too. I seen some pocketbike sites selling X-Can and Q-Can exhausts for the 47-49cc bikes. Who those type of exhausts work for the X6? Figured theres an obvious difference between the 49cc 2-Strokes and 110cc 4-Strokes but didn't know all of what it involved.

Sorry if the questions are n00bish, but I'd like to have yalls input then tryin to be my own McGuyver. I'm looking forward to an updated Midbike FAQ to cover some of the new models.

Glad I found the site, good stuff guys thanks!

If I'm correct, all those x-can or whatever are only for the 2T. As far as mods goes...check the advertisers from this site:PBU and Genesis both have parts for that bike. Filter/plugs will prolly be the first 2 things I would do. Cross ref. the plug and get platnium series, I know Bosch and Denso makes them (forgot the number, but theres another thread on it already).

Thanks Siam!,

I traded some emails with sales over at BadAzzToys too. Was saying the biggest enhancement would come from the exhaust upgrade. Thanks to yalls help im piecing this stuff together now.

NGK C7HSA is a good plug to run in them. As far as mods, the exhaust will help a lot, get a FMF pipe. Classic Honda and I am sure many others are now selling a high compression piston and upgraded big valve head for the 107 China bikes.

Sup bart,

You got a particular model of FMF to recommend? Didn't know if the X6's engine is similar to a honda XR50. I'm reading around trying to piece things together but I'm having trouble figuring out what fits.

Thanks for the advice tho!

the engine is exactly a CRF motor, the only difference is the cam has a 3 bolt pattern and the Honda cams have 2 bolts but you can use the cams for the Hondas if you change the cam sprocket. You should find that there are more aftermarket parts for this motor than there are for a Chevy 350 if that is possible.

Wow dood!

Great info thanks for shedding the light on things. I'll do some more homework now and see what my options are.

Curious... what kind of prices have you guys been seeing for the X6 4-Stroke 110cc online?

Nope... seen a few on EBAY if you search for "X6 bike" you'll get more results then with 110cc in the search. Another thing was I noticed some of them were advertized as 49cc 4-Stroke. Didn't know if that was part of the labling issue w/ customs but it makes me sketchy to buy it from those sources.

The scooter/pocketbike shops on the net are getting those RX12 4-Stroke 110cc's in stock now so I'm sure the X6's are right around the corner.

In the meantime getting advice from you guys on the bike is helpin me do homework on the options I have with the thing for aftermarket parts.

Allthough some of the parts will interchange the engine is not an exact copy of the xr50. The xr50 engine has a 63mm tall cylinder, and these chinese nockoff engines have a 69mm tall cylinder, the crank is totally differant, and a few other internals are way differant. You have to be very carful when getting internal parts for these engines, its a 50/50 chance that it will work. The exhaust and carbs from the Honda XR50 will work. Some of the Lifan and Zongshen motors are close copy's of the xr and are great quality, but the motors that come in these pocketbikes are knock off's of knock off's. Im not saying they are crap, its just that you better make sure before you order that XR50 part if it will work with chinese copies

Good stuff to know!

I was actually looking at some Lifan motors last night when I started looking up info on the Honda CRFs. They looked nice and where manual tranny so that seemed cool. Sounds like it'd be a good upgrade right there. I hear you on the copy of a copy stuff like after reading the FAQ it sounds like everything on the bikes could use getting swapped out or reinforced.

Having said all that I'm partly in it for the hobbie aspect of like learning engines / working on stuff so it sounds like it'd would be fun to work on.

Like PimpMyRide™ for MidBikes.

Re: Parts/Mods for X6 4-Stroke 110cc???

Just curious why the x6. personally i have broke the frame on 1 of them, and freinds have broke 2 others. 1 broke on the lower end where the motor mounts, another on the upper shock mount and 1 on the lower shock mount. if you dont weigh too much and dont hit potholes you might be ok but there are other people on this forum who have had issues with the x6.

Re: Parts/Mods for X6 4-Stroke 110cc???

From my experiance the mods that worked for me were the PBU exhaust, air filter, hitman CDI, and gearing swaps. The exhaust was "ok" and only really added a little performance but it sounded sweet. The Hitman CDI allowed me to hold my revs longer plus gave the bike a little more spunk when I twisted the throttle but the best mod was the gearing swap. I went with 1 tooth up front to allow more top end for long tracks then when I was on a short to med sized track I would run the stock gearing. The all time mod was the chassis upgrade because of the issues the X6/X8's have with the rear portion of the chassis you may want to consider this your first move.

Before changing: Run the engine until it's warm. Then shut the engine off.

Re: Parts/Mods for X6 4-Stroke 110cc???

Having the bike stand upright (off the kickstand) will not effectively drain all the oil. Therefore, you'll need to raise the rear end of the bike off the ground for a good draining....I propped the rear at least a couple of feet off the ground to drain the oil.
