Parts Question

Does anyone know where to get a better brake setup. Calipers and all, or what will fit from another bike on a x-18.

Also, does anyone know the location to by a high compression piston kit for x18 or if they do. Will it make a decent inprovment

Re: Parts Question

No one makes a direct bolt on brake upgrade, you would have to fabricate something and it would be expensive but the stock brakes can be quite good if you bleed them and set them up correctly.
AHP makes a hiigh compression piston that makes a nice difference but I would just get the Trailbikes big bore kit that adds 7cc and increases the compression.

Re: Parts Question

It's been mentioned before. The pads on your bike really suck. If you replace them with quality stuff they will improve 100%. A plug-&-play swap are the pads from a KTM XS65 I believe. Well it's a KTM I remember that much. After you replace the pads remove the crap brake fluid and add some good stuff and take your time and bleed the brakes correctly and you'll have a worlds better braking set-up. Now if it's a track set-up your looking at one caliper ain't going to get it done no matter what you do.

These photo's show you a little of what you can do with time, cussing, and a few bruised knuckles

Re: Parts Question

where did you get that trick dual rotor/caliper set up on the front of your bike. Is it on a X-18 or do you have some other type of pocketbike. I have been trying to figure out how to get a dual rotor/caliper setup on the front of my x-18 for a couple months now.

Re: Parts Question

message Hglenn55, I think he said he used 2 rightside front forks for mounting the caliper and he drilled and tapped the hub for the second rotor. I may be off but he said its a BIG improvement
