that might be a little hard considering we are not running a B.O.V.

Re: Turbo Pocketbike

yes the turbo has an internal wastegate, we had no room for a b.o.v. plus we couldnt find one that small. We thought about machinging our own but figured since we would only be running a small amount of boost it is not very necessary.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

The turbo won't change the static compression of the engine, however under boost, the effective compression will be greater.

(boost psi / 14.7 + 1) x static compression = effective compression

I'm sure that's not 100% accurate, but it gives an idea of increased cylinder pressures under boost.

You are right. The reason you run a lower static compression is because you run higher cylinder pressures under boost because you are force feeding the cylinder instead of letting vacuum try to fill it. You can make more power with a turbo with the same cylinder pressure as a high compression set up because there will be more air/fuel charge to ignite in the cylinder vs less charge but compressed more on a naturally aspirated engine.

from previous posts, it sounds like just buying the turbo new would be more than the whole bike new.
