Re: reliable website to get a x18

The new x-18's that are just coming available now are EPA approved.
I bought my from rabbitscooters for $659 four months ago, now the EPA approved x-18 bikes have gone up in price to $739. They were out of stock for a while too, but they let you know it on their web site!

They are EPA approved so does that mean they can be licensed? It says they are street legal on the website....is it just a lie?

Re: reliable website to get a x18

Why can they not be stret legal? It says it comes with title and origin of whatever......I am willing to bed you can get it licensed as a custom scooter or something...any ideas? I hear you just take it to the DVM and have it inspected and then they issue registration.....it has all the lights and **** etc..

Please view the following link. It should answer some questions concerning the legality of the bike.

That is just more bureaucratic mumbo jumbo just to line the pockets of some more corrupt people in government.
I get so pissed off at this whole situation everytime it comes up.

Re: reliable website to get a x18

There is an EPA office nearby me in Ann Arbor, MI, I just called them and they never head of rabbit scooters or of any pocket bike or small scooter like that being submitted for testing. Essentially someone is lying to you and charging you more for a fake certificate. Unless they can send you a copy of the certificate and you post it on here I will go down and verify it with the EPA here and make sure the number is a valid one and that they did actually issue it.
If you read the EPA warning on scooters it says right in there
"A motorcycle emits as much hydrocarbon in 10 miles as a car driven 850 miles"
SOO, even though I feel that the government should butt out of this it is our environment and I would not want to go back to the smoggy cars of the 60s and 70s and see how our air is then. I feel that if the engines produce that much emmissions they should be regulated and anyone doing it outside those parameters ought to be fined especially when they are charging a premium for supposedly having theirs meet emmissions.

Re: reliable website to get a x18

I just did a search on the net and found a chinese website that said the bike is EPA approved. Zhejiang Amp Incoporated (Maker of the X18, I think) has the bike listed as model # GS820 & says that it is EPA (not *** or CARB) approved. Here is a link: http://luckamp.en.ec21.com/GC0054699...approved).html

So even if the bike is EPA approved, it still needs the *** sticker on it for other applications. I have an email into RabbitScooters, asking them if this bike has the EPA, *** and CARB stickers affixed to the X18 (their website list the bike as being EPA approved). I'll post the info once I can check my email.

Re: reliable website to get a x18

I've dealt with Zheijang amp before, their stuff is fairly low quality and really poor assembly. That was like 2-3 years ago that I got stuff from them and maybe things have changed but their stuff was really hastily put together and very problematic.

Re: reliable website to get a x18

I got a call in to a friend of mine who was in China for about 2 years. Trying to get him to locate the maker of the X18 or GS820. Rabbitscooters send a reply to my email. Bike comes with a EPA certificate and Point of Origin certificate. No paperwork from that other agency in D.C. Bike is illegal in California (To sale in the state or ride). DMV will take it from you if seen.

Hey X7Rocks - How long have you had your X18 (GS820)? Do you have a title & tag?
