Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

The position for the X 12 is race inspired. That forward lean with your legs back is supposed to put more weight on the front for better corner speed. But looking at the forks and triple clamp I'd think they'd flex back without serious mods before you do any serious stuff. I've seen a few guys wizzing around a track on vid's but none of them are pushing the bikes for max anything. I lean til something scraps or I crash that's why I have a $10,000 knee!

Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

my coworker has fitted a X12 with a 125 motor seems really fast
but barely keeps up with my x18
anyhow to put it into perspective me and him were messing around the working parking lot late at night
raceing cornering and all that it seems like my bike could corner a bit deeper
then we switched and to me me is the x12 is vary jumpy compared to my suspension and made me feel a bit better to corner on my bike
just from my point of view =] its a nice bike thought but i dont like the semi motors they come with

Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

From what I have read and reading what you guys have written the problems with the X 12 is they throw a lot of crap parts at it (see photo ). The idea was good but the execution sucked. The picture is one I pulled from in here somewhere. If you replaced the forks with USD's the shock with a decent unit and put in a 138cc manual at least I think this would be a very decent machine. To bad they didn't do that in the first place. With the X 18 it seems like they're making the part's better the first time .

Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

that happens to be my picture. i broke my shock shortly after owning it. bare in mind, 285lb rider + hard bump + multiple times. i replaced it with a manitou swinger spv 3 way adjustable air shock... much better than any stock shock. never had any more trouble, and the ride greatly improved.

1st pic : alternate view of busted shock
2nd pic : swinger spv

Whoa You're a biggun 90GT. At a buck sixty I shouldn't have any problems. Did you do any other Mods on your X 12? I want two bikes in my garage the first will be the X 15 and the second a X 12. A lot of things will have to be upgraded on the X 12 before I'm done but hey it's what I like to do

Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

Do they make a wind screen bracket for the X18, or is there one made for another bike that would fit. I need to mount some mirrors and the wind screen doesn't seem to strong to hold them.
Thanks!

about as well as any of the x-bikes... it will do it, but you are bound to rattle something loose, so check your bolts from time to time. dirt roads and dust also mean you should change your oil, clean your air filter, and clean your chain at more frequent intervals.

Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

hey! any ideas on a good way to rewire my x-18 to just the bare minimums? I am making it a track bike so my C1 dont get lonely!!lol thinking battery only ignition but might include the generator so it never runs low on 12volt.
I see the ignitor sensor will work on battery so the only thing will be if I want it to recharge itself or not. no lights or turn signals just a track bike so if you know of any issues please post,,or not I can learn eventually....lololol thanx

Re: X18 Information Thread. Take A Look, Please.

I will add to the remark about a good place to get an X 18.. i bought mine a week ago. i live in ohio and it came from cali. it took only 4 days and the shipping rate was 40 bucks. www.minipocketrocket.com. $579 for a new out of the box X 18. Hope this helps someone. Anyone know of any websites on some upgrades to my X 18. It would be much appreciated. Thanks
