Question x18 pro racer

There are a lot of websites that sell the x18 and say it does 60+. I am going to buy a x18 and i want to know if it does what they realy say. x18 owners say it does 45 tops so is this true? So if you own a x18 let me know.
thanks, eddie

Re: x18 pro racer

Well they say that the speedometer on the chinese bikes dont work right and that only a gps or a speed gun will work. So who else has a x18? But anyway thanks 4 the post.

Re: x18 pro racer

I own 2 x18 bikes, one is faster than the other one for no particular reason. I would say that with the huge inconsistency in the prodution of chinese engines and different engines that were sold in these bikes, its anyones guess just how fast your bike is gonna be. I bought 2 that were packed next to each other in the container and from one to the other there is a significant speed difference. As bartw said some of the engines do not contain the claimed engine size. They all say they are 110cc but how would you know till you pulled it apart. I have heard of people measuring them to be 70cc, 90cc etc. I am sure that a majority of them are the right size engine but even then, both of my bikes are but one goes way faster than the other one???? On average the bike out of the crate will do between 45-55. 55 being very lucky. If this is a huge concern to you get the bike and spend a hundred bucks on a 114 cylender and then you know what is in it and you move further towards the 60 mark you are chasing. There are people that claim stock bikes doing 60 and maybe they do but i have never seen one in the flesh so all ill tell you is what i am expierienced with and that is the above mentioned speeds. There is that video going around of the pocket doing 63, some say it is modified and other say it isnt. So get the bike, prepare for 45-50 mph and if you get one faster than that bonus if not you can sure as hell make it alot faster than that. All in all a killer bike though and alot of people are riding them, just check out the pole that was posted. X18 wasted everything else, others are good bikes but in my oppinion the x18 has the killer looks and if everyone else has them you can bet for the best aftermarket backing.

Re: x18 pro racer

from my expierence my x18 was redline (6000rpm) in 4th gear and I was ony doing about 40 to 45. At the time I didn't have a tach so maybe I wasn't at redline but it was screaming. Now I have a bigger front sprocket and have managed 50mph, not even close to redline but the bike is pretty much out of power at that point. All my speed tests were done with a YZF 600r clocking right next to me

Me too, I think it is the best mod to do for the money, by the time you waste money on all the other junk you can buy for these things, you are far better off with real internal mods, i bet it will burn with one of those things installed. I would love to see a video of one of these vs stock. In fact I would love to see 4 bikes with all the mods i posted in my poll and line them up and see which ones work the best.

Re: x18 pro racer

Couple of myths that are not true:
Myth #1. Weight of rider has much bearing on top speed: that is not true, 100lbs rider and 300lbs rider will have just about identical top speed on the same X18 bike, the difference would be that the bike will get there faster with the 100lbs guy. There would be a difference if they were going uphill and the bike was geared taller then stock but it will not make a difference on a stock bike.
Myth #2. That any stock X18 goes over 50mph, with the stock gears that they come with that would means spinning the stock engine at like 12,000 rpm so NOT ONE STOCK X18 does over 50mph without a gearing change.
Myth #3. That the engine redlines at 6000rpm. The stock 110cc engine can spin almost 10k rpm, they make their horsepower peak at about 8700 rpm and rev to 9500rpm without much problem unless really restricted.
THE STOCK CDI DOES NOT HAVE AN RMP LIMIT. There are some BS companies selling some junk that tell you that the stock CDI is restricted to like 8,000rpm or 10,000 rpm. Don't believe this, the stock CDI has no rev limiter. It has a limit in that it can get a bit inacurate after about 11k rpm but it does not have a limit built into it. The CDI that have a limit are a bunch of useless BS parts that will only slow you down. Very few of the Chinese CDIs ever had a limit and I have not seen one in a while.

The single biggest difference that you can make to one of the 107cc engines is the 114 kit. It gives you 7 more cc but more importantly it raises the compression ratio about 3 points which makes the engine very responsive and more powerful at all RPM from idle to redline. I would start with the 114 kit as the single biggest improvement for the $$ and then add to it from there.
Another reason to start with the 114 kit is that if you buy a 24mm carb for your stock motor it will be too much and the bike will run poorly so you would want a 20mm or 22mm kit, then when you uggraded to a 114 you would have to upgrade the carb again. So it is better to start with the 114 as it will make the biggest difference and then the other components you buy will just compliment that.
It is your choice, but that is my recomendation and honest opinion.

A 20mm carb runs well on a stock or mildly modded 107cc engine. The 26mm carb is for highly modified 114cc and larger engines. You would not want to run a 26mm carb on a stock 107 as it would be too much and actually loose power especially bottom end. What I was suggesting was to actually do the 114 kit first and not have to buy two different carbs as the carb you would want now would be different then what you would want with the 114 kit. There is no one best carb, different carbs are for different power levels so in order to not have to buy two or three different carb kits and get the maximum performance I recommend doing things in the order I outlined.
