X6 or RX12? About to buy one need help...

Ok I narrowed it down to 2 bikes.

1. Is the X6 110cc

2. is the RX12 110cc

I have read countless hours on pros and cons on both of these so there is no need for me to look any further on these boards. Right now I need raw opinions from everyone. I am looking to race these as well so please keep in mind this.

I know the X6 has the CVT which has become a con for some x6 owners but at the same time the RX12 does have a "Smile and a cry" with it as well. The RX12 has a manuel 4 stroke which is a plus, but it does not down stroke. What I am looking for is an out of the box "Race suitable" bike. Something I can get out there and not exactley get smoked by, but something I can have a chance with. Maybe a X6 or RX12 is not what I am looking for, but that is the only MidBikes I have found that has this kind of power and motor. Could someone point me to a different bike that could possibly be better under $900 or $1000.00.

I am not mechanically inclined at the moment, but I am looking to learn and my cousin can work on these with his eyes closed (he races go-karts) so I am in good hands, but I want to learn myself. Any help would be appreciated. I have a race coming up in 3 weeks in Alabama so I need a bike within 2 at least.

Thanks...

the x6 and x12 are two completely different bikes. they do both come with the 110. the x12's seating position puts too much of your upper body weight on you arms and the handle bars which makes cornering a bit tiring. the shifting of this bike is cumbersome and since you cant upshift out of the box would make racing it a bit of a pain. the x6 has lots of power with the stock gears yet it tops out in the mid 30's vs the x12 upper 40's. i can be cruising at 15mph lean back crack the trottle and pull a wheelie with the x6. so its gonna come down to what kind of riding your gonna be doing the most. thats why i have like 6 bikes. Now if you wait for a week ill have the 110x7 to tinker with and out of all the big bikes the x7 handles the best.

you know people always say the x7 handles the best but maybe thats only true for smaller people...im around 215 and with the peg height on the x7 my feet always hit the ground in hard cornering...also i have raced my x6 4 stroke and my x7 4 stroke against each other and no matter the situation my x6 has won...just my 2cents maybe im wrong

Both bikes have thier issues. I think it all comes down to personal preference. X-7 owners will say get one, rx-12 owners will say get one. All we can really do is tell you WHY we chose the bike we did.
I chose the RX-12 for it's potential in speed, and it's very close resemblence to a real Ducati.
And it has the nicest wheels & rims out of all the bikes.

you can upshift with the rx12 straight out of the box and it goes faster than 40. if you are looking to do wheelie buy a smaller sprocket and an adjustable chain and you can pull a wheelie through 1st 2nd and 3rd also it would increas acceleration dramaticly witch would be perfect for racing but you loose a decent amount of top end power so weigh your options make a decision and have fun!

Once the foot pegs get frame mounted like the ones in my submission for PBOM then the bike handles like a dream. i have broken off the kickstand from getting too low in the corner. after it broke it off i was happy cause now i could go faster and lower. then i dragged the mount that holds the kickstand in the pavement. weight wise im 190. the peg height on a stock unit or even swapped to raise still does suck.

Yeah the kickstand definatley get's tossed if it's going to be raced. It takes away your max lean angle on that particular side. Just get a cag stand and bend it to fit the rear axle nuts like a big bike rear stand
I have been putting my X6 to the test in actual races and besides the bogging issues I had the chassis really handles well. There are some minor issues that needs to taken care of but once they are fixxed the bike handles corners well. You may also want to shorten the pegs also

ok...I am in some what of the same position.....as you, the x12 and x6 are my fave, but over all....I am going to say that I like the x12 more for its sleek looks....and like the other dude said...you put a huge rear sprocket on dat thing and boom.....lol.....also....there is a ton more upgrades comming out for the x12.....like there is this motor that I might get next year if I get the x12 this summer, that is a 125cc and it shifts just like a real street bike also, its fricking awsome, but it is near 1,000 buckarunies....lol....but ne ways...I own a x1 and it just doesn't have the power for me.....and I really like the over all looks on the x12....I prolly going to get also because, there are so many upgrades for it....its just like a variety of doom...lol....

The only random problem I've heard with the X6, is the lower shock mount breaking. Nothing that your local muffler or welder couldn't fix or modify. Might as well have both (upper/lower) re-welded for better support.

Now, unless you are a very aggressive experienced racer is when the swing arm and swing arm mount should be re-enforced (modded). After all, these were built to be ridden as a toy, not raced.

The X12 is known for it's linkage. There is a fix for this.
Moreover, the foot peg location can be an issue too if one attempts to reach max lean angle. Then I highly suggest to frame mount the pegs.
