X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

A gentleman in another thread was kind enough to post this image for me of his shifter linkage on the x7 4 stroke... since the 110cc 4 speeds arent available anymore, i am going to rebuild my crashed x7 and put a motor in it from a dirt bike with a shifter and all that.. so i need to know where to get the linkage from since my bike did not originally come with this stuff.

thanks!

Re: X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

i'm having a real hard time finding one anywhere, everyone that lists them on their site is actually sold out. Apparently the bike is discontinued. plus i think ill have better luck with an 88cc Honda 3speed, than with those 110cc loncin motors and rotary 4 speeds.

Re: X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

well i have an x18 and it has a shift linkage and shift lever setup just like that but im not shure how readily avaliable x18 linkages are either, although i have an extra to sell if your interested. Another option would be to use the x15 shift lever which goes directly onto the shaft and it is basically filpped around so the front of the lever where the rubber pad thing is faces the foot peg. I will see if i can get a pic up of the linkage that my x18 has to give you an idea

Re: X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

so i decided to pick up the 110cc 4-stroke motor, with 4 speed auto-clutch from pocketbikesunlimited... once i learn to ride that with the shifting and all i will likely upgrade to the manual clutch setup... will probably end up engineering my own linkage for the shift pedal... or, i may work on a button activated electric solenoid to shift it...

Re: X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

sounds like a cool idea about the electric shifter but PBU probally wasnt the best place to buy an engine(their way too over priced IMO), i picked up a 4 speed110cc manual on ebay for $150 and it was brand new. Do you still want pics of the linkage? Good luck with your project

Re: X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

im going with PBU because i know what i am getting.. ebay has been flakey for me in the past, but geez $300 more expensive for the same engine that's crazy... can you show me the engine on ebay ? also can you verify that what you got was actually a 110cc engine and not a 70cc or something else ? i didnt actually order the motor yet.. i need to hae a motor in my hands by thursday at the latest.. so if you can find something with a buy it now that'd be ideal!

and yes please include shifter linkage images that'd be great.

thanks!

Re: X7 4 speed shifter linkage.

i auctly tore down the engine that i bought off ebay and measured the piston size (im planning on buliding a race engine) and i found out the stroke and it is 110cc and its a manual four speed but their are also semi auto four speeds on ebay if thats what you are looking for. do a search on 110cc engine and you will see all theoptions you have.......if you feel more comfterable hoing through a dealer look on sd scooters . com (without the spaces), i deal with them for all my parts and are very quick with shipping and have good prices. Just give them a call and tell them what your looking for and you will get a good deal. Ill try to get the linkage pics up thsi afternoon
