44cc engine the same as 49cc?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but here goes..
I recently bought a brand new 44cc engine really cheap from E**Y and pulled it apart to do a little porting job on the cylinder and I measured the piston, and it is 44mm. That is the same size piston the 49cc engine has right? I wonder if the compression height or pin location is the same.. PBU showed a 44mm piston for the 49cc. So basically I have another 49cc engine. Also, I noticed that there is only 25% crosshatch in my cylinder. I notice some pits and grey areas where the hone didn't touch the walls. Time to get out the hone, and make them rings seat a little better. I even removed the gasket between the block and cylinder and used some play-doh to check piston/head clearance and was pretty close but will work. Has anyone else noticed the missing crosshatch in their cylinders?
