Re: 49cc X7 help!!!

you may need a new piston and set of rings .....or you may need a new clutch...........if it is the piston i would just rebuild the engine , it may cost around 40.00 to rebuild but at the same time you are doing that you can do any upgrades to the engine you were thinking about .........

Where do you have the mixture screw set at? If you take the sparkplug out what does it look like? What oil to gas ratio are you mixing?

Re: 49cc X7 help!!!

Yes I'm talking about the brass colored straight headed screw on the side of the carb. Reset it to 2 1/2 turns out. If you are using what is said in the manuel (25:1) than your using to much oil. You sould be mixing a 32:1 or 40:1 ratio. I use 40:1 myself. When I asked you what the sparkplug looked like I want to know if it's black and greasy or white and dry? I want to know what color it is ok?

Re: 49cc X7 help!!!

do you mean screw it out 2 1/2 out from when it is all the way screwed in? does it make any difference if you use too much oil? and spark plug is dry. and another thing is that when ever i turn the gas it bogs down at around 1000rpm to 1500rpm max

Re: 49cc X7 help!!!

Yes I mean to turn the mixture screw to the right (in) softly until it stops but don't tighten it than turn it 2 1/2 turns to the left (out). Well 25:1 is just too much oil in the mixture and it will cause sparkplugs to foul just like the black plug you have. So yes it does make a difference. Go get a new sparkplug NGK BM6A (5921) and reset the carb to 2 1/2 turns out. If that don't help you may need to clean the carb plus I would check the coil to flywheel gap and see if it's about the thickness of a business card or even reset it using a business card.

Re: 49cc X7 help!!!

I had that problem with mine and the metering block on the carb was full of junk. It took about 10 min to take off, clean, and put back on.

Take it apart, wipe it down with a wire brush or steel wool. It might help to use a some kind of solvent like gas (not 2stroke mix), kerosene, or alcohol. Make sure it's dry when you put it back together.

Re: 49cc X7 help!!!

The coil is under that plastic shroud around the motor. Just follow the sparkplug wire and it will take you right to the coil. There will be 2 bolts that hold the coil in place. Turn the flywheel so the magnet is facing up. Insert a business card between the coil and flywheel and loosen both bolts holding the coil in place. Let the coil drop on top of the business card and tighten the 2 bolts back up. Remove the card.
I'm thinking it's more of a carb problem either a dirty carb or just way out of tune or both.
Now if you want to check the motor take out the sparkplug and place a finger or thumb over the sparkplug hole and pull the pull start. If it tries to blow your finger off the hole than I would say the motor has good compression and the motor is good.
