Angry Bogging problem

Ok i have a stock carb on and yesterday it was running really REALLY good since i just put on a performance pipe so i took a 7mile ride on the bike and picked up a friend on it together we both weighed 230 and the bike was bogging at any incline than it just started bogging when i hit the gas so i put on a walbro carb today that i had sitting around and i have the same problem. I started off at the top of my drive way and when i hit the powerband it drove really good but when taking off it bogs and when going up hill it bogs pretty much bogs any time I give it gas??? Its so confusing. Do i need a whole new cylinder do i need piston rings? What is it i dont think my line is clogged although the mixture might be a little rich but it didnt have too much smoke from the exaust.! I need help with this i even replaced the sparkplug. I have an extra ignition coil from my scooter but i havent tried that yet but to be honest I dont think thats the prob cuz it has spark and as i said when i get to the powerband It rockets off. PLEASE HELP

Re: Bogging problem

It could be a wide range of things, my guess is that its the coil/ coil connection to spark plug... It receives enough spark to idle but once you give it more gas the spark isn't enough, so in turn it bogs out. You can never be certain as to whats the problem.

Re: Bogging problem

Wow! haha i feel like a noob it was that the carb was dirty and when i put the walbro on i put it on upside down. I've never seen any engine where the primer is on top and upside down but i guess i'm kinda new to working on engines since I'm 15 but woah that was a big releif i was really stressed about that and i think i while back i read a thread where another guy did the same thing.! haha wow just wow. I feel stupid but thank god i found out what was wrong haha i cant beleive an upside down carb would even start. So for everyone who doesnt know this an upside down carb and a dirty carb run the same way. Lmao =p! Oh yea and this is the first time i have got the walbro too run. It's wicked faster than the stock if you have a nice tune and it allows your bike too idle it is awesome the stock one i could never get to idle with out tightenin the throttle. It also has 10x better throttle response than the stock carb soo for everyone on the forum who disses the performance carb and says it's the same as the stock performance is completely wrong. HP carb= Smart Move!

Re: Bogging problem

Walboro carbs can be run at any angle, bulb on the top or on the side,on the bottom. Ok what matters is the little pulse hole matches the pulse hole in the intake manifold. That is what makes the fuel pump work inside of the carb. Good to hear you figured it out.

Re: Bogging problem

OK i guess i didnt fix it i went up the road about 2miles and it started bogging again.??? Soo do you think my mixture is just 2 rich. I thought thats why the carb was clogging. But there is no thick smoke coming from the pipe. The airfilter looks a little dirty but do you think that just from it being a little dirty would the carb get dirty that fast??? WHAT IS WRONG?? Ahhh

Re: Bogging problem

What is the purge port i think it is that line on the manifold but where is it supposed to be lined on the carb because i see 2 different holes and i need to know which on is the one that is supposed to line up with the manifold purge port i have gaskets for it too.

Re: Bogging problem

Well if you look at the 2 little holes on the motor side of the carb 1 is just an indention and the other you can see that there is a little hole that goes into the carb. Thats the pulse hole that gets matched to the manifold. Now if this carb is a walbor WT 603 than the carb will not cover the pulse hole in the manifold all the way. So you will need to fill in the bottom half of the oblong hole in the manifold with some gasket maker or JBweld.
