Exclamation Home made boost bottle review!!!

i built a boost bottle from these instructions How To/Formula for Making Your Own Boost Tube
i tested different sizes on my x7 and cutting the pvc to 3inch works better.
my x7 only had a performance filter and when adding the boost bottle on it, on my test track where i got to 28 before i was at 32.. the top seemed to be the same but it could be more if i go on a longer track... the boost bottle greatly improved the low end so great it felt like i could pull a wheelie unlike from before when i need to giv it a push start!!! ive seen some online boost bottles for like 50 bucks and the homemade ones seem better and are easier to adjust!!! not to mention like half the cost!! the cost only costed me under 10 dollars cuz i already had the pvc parts, teflon tape, glue and drill bit and tap.

this is something you deffinetly need to do for performance and not empting your wallet

this weekend i accidently kicked my boost bottle when getting up and re ziptied it in another position and i found you get even better low end when the boostbottle barb is pointiong down (pointing twards the ground...but have it raised higher than the manifold)

metal is better because pvc can melt in contact with fuel fume.

ok taht explanes alot man. first off ur botle is to big u can only make the bottle a certain size so it helps you not effect you. it should be the size of a M&M mini bottle anything smaller or bigger will effect u. ur bottle also could be leaking air. ur air feul screw is on the side of ur carb and its got a flat head on it and u use a flat tip screwdiver to adjust it. hope taht helps.

To el Cangri; I allso made a boost bottle for my x7 and i can say do it only half the size of your engine cc. I done mine exactly 49 cc and the idle was crap ( bike idled high then low and high again and so on untill it boged out. It had just litle beter response in mid RPM. So i made it about 0,8 the size of my engine and it was a litle beter but not good enough for me. So i made another bottle about 24,9cc (49 cc engine is only 47 cc; 44mm bore, 34mm stroke) and it works beter now; good throtle response (beter accel. in corners) and it gets to top end a litle faster. It is not a mod that would bring you much power it just add a litle more crisp to your accel..

To James; Drill your manifold on uper side then cut a thread in there (be carefull it is heat resistant plastic. You dont wana break it cause it is not posible to weld that kind of plastic!!!). Put loctite on the tap and screw it in, let it harden a bit then take a grinder and grind the part of that is on the inside of the manifold so you get a smooth hole like it was before. Next clean it up and put some silicone gasket maker around the tap on the outside of the manifold (just to make sure it is air tight). So if you done ewerything right the tap is pointing up when you put that manifold back on the cilynder.
